Single player games are still around, I know. But, you can't deny that everything is going towards the online capabilities for games. It's just the way it is now. The single player is becoming an after thought to the MP portions of games. I think that is BS because I still enjoy the SP of most games I play.

I do agree though if I were just an offline gamer the XBO would be a no go for me as well. I can understand not wanting to pay for a service that I won't use to get a service that I want.

I haven't had an XBox for quite some time so it's entirely possible that M$ is doing that now. When I was a (brief) Gold member, the only real value I got was being able to get some demos/digital games early.

Beyond that though, I ultimately want a console to play games. The main reason I won't be getting the XBO is because Microsoft wants it to be more than just a gaming console. They want to get their fingers in everything I do in my living room when it comes to entertainment. Today, the paywall is for Netflix. Tomorrow, it's going to be something else.

I've heard Knack is annoyingly difficult (this is good if you like a challenge) and the multi-player is cool.

E: From the liveplays I've seen of the Xbox One, it really doesn't look ready for retail at all. Maybe the 1.25 gb (wtf) day 1 firmware update will smooth things over? The people on the polygon stream really seemed to be annoyed with how the voice system with the kinect was working and seemed to focus more on potential than what's actually in front of them. The snap features seem to incite lag and the tv shit looks buggy.

The hard drive management system seems really ****ing bizarre and getting forced out of a game to update doesn't sound pleasant. Those are the first two things they should change.

Forza sounds like a stripped down tech demo (looks good, but it looks like they sacrificed a lot of content to get this out on launch day), Ryse isn't fairing too well in reviews and Lococycle looks like a dumb and ugly game. Dead Rising and Killer Instinct look promising though.

Seems like we're basically paying 400/500 dollars to beta test their shit while waiting for better titles. Sounds about right for console launches.

Xbox one is the more innovative console. It is built for the future and with software upgrades it will only get better. It's kind of like comparing a smart phone that can run multiple apps to a cell phone that can only send texts and make calls.

I am not going back to look at my previous posts, but I don't believe I said the graphics were better. I never said it was the more powerful console, I just said so far the third party games look better on The One, and judging from that video it's the truth.

To the Xbox Won bros, I can't wait to play Deadrising 3, looks absolutely sick.

I'm the opposite. I HATE having a box for TV, a gaming system, a bluray player, etc etc etc. Each box is at minimum 3 cords that I have to hide not to mention having all that shit cluttering up shelves & the remotes that go with each one. I'd rather have one system that does everything.

Then disable the voice features and throw the Kinect away, you don't have to have it if you don't want it. As far as games go Sony will have more exclusives but you still can't beat Gears and Halo. Uncharted is the only thing that comes close.

Halo?

Dafuq?

Halo is Call of Duty. The same rehashed shit for the last few years. Nothing to miss out on.

Oh, I agree with you there. I totally am on board with having one box to do everything. I just don't want that box to be Microsoft's. I don't trust them not to put even more of the services I today enjoy for free behind a service charge.

How about I just save the extra $100 and buy a PS4?

Saying "you don't have to have it if you don't want it" sounds great in theory, except for the fact that MICROSOFT disagrees with you. That's why they refuse to unbundle it.

I would love to see you back that statement up.

I think it's pretty obvious that from an overall device standpoint, when you consider all of the possibilities (not just games), the XBox One is a bit more innovative.

Then again, Microsoft is asking more of you than Sony is. Sony wants you to play their games and to a lesser extent, download movies and stuff.

Microsoft wants you to play their games, download their content, AND use their social networking apps/network.

Nightfyre 11-21-2013 01:38 PM

I don't see that as innovative. It's nothing google/apple hasn't done. The only difference is that instead of a computer, its a console. Which is basically a computer with a controller.

You're not an online gamer then as far as consoles go. If I remember correctly, you are more of a computer gamer - I could be remembering wrong though.

I could see in your case that it would be an issue - but for 95% of console gamers they are buying to play games online.

I must be one of the five percent, as are a couple colleagues of mine.

You've already seen the videos. What can ps4 do? Play Blu ray? Great!

Nightfyre 11-21-2013 02:11 PM

What can the XBone do? Blow me away.
