Makes sense..I would say Barkley mirrors Alex Smith in terms of similar skill set..If KC can get him in the 3rd round, then I wouldn't be too upset..

Barkley won't make it out of the Top 15 picks let alone the first and second round.

Someone would have to be in love with him to take him that high..It may happen, but I don't want him in the 1st...He's a USC guy...Just look at that list of QBs that have come out of that system in the last few years..

I was thinking more of a trade down to get out of #1 and still grab Barkley. And I think Barkley will be considerably better than Alex Smith.

Solid, well thought out rebuttal.

(Avoid all QBs coming out of one of the schools that attracts the most talented players in the nation)

Let some other team draft him..Last time I checked we just traded 2 picks for Alex Smith...

We need to accept that Alex Smith is the guy...

We have more glaring holes to fill...If Reid/Dorsey were going to draft Barkley or any other QB with the 1st pick, they wouldn't have dealt for Alex...What Dorsey/Reid have accomplished is draft flexibility..Filling holes so we can go into the draft and draft the BPA..

My comments may not be the most popular in here, but I don't want Matt Barkley..If he is skipped and drops to the 3rd round, then I have no problem taking a flyer on him..That is what I was getting at with that post..

I agree. I think they do have a trade partner. Say they trade down with the Bills. And the draft goes like this:
1. Bills-Geno Smith
2. Jags-Dion Jordan
3. Raiders-Shariff Floyd
4. Eagles-Luke Joeckel
5. Lions-Dee Milliner
6. Browns-Ziggy Ansah
7. Cards-Eric Fischer
8. Chiefs-???

Who would you take in this situation?

Answer: Barkley or the Blue Pill.

I don't think Dorsey has a problem drafting a QB in the 1st and then grooming him as opposed to starting him right away. I could see them drafting Barkley or Smith in the 1st and letting them sit under Alex for 2 years. In fact, that's what I think is going to happen.

chiefscafan 03-10-2013 10:06 AM

I have to agree just because the guy went to same college doesnt mean he is turning out to be the same qb as the others that went there.

I'm more concerned bout arm strength and why he was light years better last year than this one
