My guess is that they bring back OBJ and then draft a RT in the first 3 rounds to compete with Niang.

Is it pretty much a sure thing that Wylie is a gonner?

A sure thing? No. But all it takes is one team out there to offer him a decent contract that beats what we've been paying him.

Just curious, because after his SB performance I suddenly don't hate his guts anymore

I’m assuming someone will overpay for him due to the Super Bowl tax, which I’m sure will be too rich for our blood.

You're probably right, I just hope Niang is ready because its not like he hasn't had plenty of time to get the playbook down... I'd love nothing more than to see him again become the guy Chase Young described as the toughest tackle he ever faced in college

Yeah and Browns agent said it was the lack of money in the early years of the contract.
Your simple 6 for 150 to get it to 25 AAV is not what it is going to take. If that is the case they could have and would have added that extra 2 M per year. It is about the Brown camp not wanting or willing to accept a backloaded contract that does not have REAL money in the first 3 or 4 years. They will not accept a contract that has a $37 M year at the end that skews the contract to a point where he will not receive those $$$. That is the reason that the contract negotiations broke down last year.

It's human to be fickle. Give it a few months.

I'll still be totally cool with whatever happens, but I've went from wanting him chased off with a shotgun... to being pretty ok with it if he stuck around

Like all Chiefs FA's. Only if you are willing to take a discount.

He might be able to get a little more elsewhere, but what KC offers will still buy him plenty of football cards, not to mention get him a couple more rings

He's been pretty clear about wanting to be a franchise LT and what he expects to be paid. Someone is dumb enough to pay it. He'll either get what he wants or get it somewhere else.

He seems like a good person but I disagree with him on his absolute value. I'd trade for Tunsil and forget about LT for 4 or 5 years. It'll cost more but you won't get 5 game stretches where Pat's running for his life...

I'm just playing the part of the agent and player here.

What does KC offer that Andrew hasn't already accomplished? Starting RT? Check. Multiple SB wins? Check. What is still on the table? Oh, yeah. Money.

This. He already left Baltimore 'cause he couldn't get the $$$/position he wanted. And frankly we knew that when we traded for him. We should have signed him long term then. We aren't saving any money playing this game. Hell, we've cost ourselves money. Signing him long term 3 years ago would have saved us money and cap.

If we weren't going to lock him up why trade for him? Did we just talk sweet nothings to the girl at closing time 'cause we didn't want to leave empty handed?...

I'm applying that logic in both the RT and LT spots. Not that the LT or RT isn't an important position. It's just that those 2 aren't the most important part of the success of that OL.
