It is actually a little more than that just this year. He also forfeited his $500K in workout bonus. That is $9.1ish and then he will also have to pay back a prorated portion of his signing bonus.
Then it drops his tag numbers for the next 2 years. He is looking more and more like his buddy LeVeon Bell.

And a $10M lower number for the franchise tag in 2024. Overall potentially costing himself around $20M combined for 2023 and 2024 if he pulls this stunt all the way to Week 8. He'll never make enough money from any team to offset this loss of income if he goes down this path, making it one of the dumbest moves by any player in sports history.

Potentially tripping over dollars to scoop up pennies

If that’s true and he will sign for 27 or 28 million then the fault here is with Veach.

What insider are you referring too?

You're losing the locker room, Chris.

We we're going to rally around Derrick Nnadi and we're going to play good football.

Remember after the Super Bowl in the locker room when Chris pulled Pat aside and told him “We aren’t done.”?

Apparently he was.

As long as the middle of the line can hold up against the run, I'm confident Spags will find other ways to get pressure.

If Chris Jones fires his agents and reports to the team today or tomorrow, maybe he can save face. He probably still wouldn't play very many snaps against the Lions, but whatever.

I don't really want him signed past this season anymore. Let Brett use that cap space to rework the DT rotation.

He's making sure he's done in KC, which is fine with me. It is what it is this season. I dont want him past this season. Once all this BS is over, Veach will have time trade him and get the best deal for him.

Since they kept 6 LBs on the roster, I wonder if we see any 3-4 formations.

True, but the contract he is allegedly turning down has a huge guarantee. Google says that including this season his career earning are 87 million

Katz brothers could be losing a lot of future biz if this goes south. Rightfully so.

If it goes south? I think we've already hit the south pole.

Anything could happen, but I doubt Spags rolls that way. Not his M.O.
