Kuper to sign tender

Orlando, Fla. _ Now this is restricted free agent progress.

Right guard Chris Kuper is preparing to sign his one-year, $2.512 million tender today, essentially taking the three-year starter off the market.

Kuper, a fifth-round pick in the 2006 draft, becomes the first of the Broncos’ five restricted free agents to sign his tender and will be the second to join the team’s offseason conditioning program. Quarterback Kyle Orton starting conditioning with the team on Friday.

Kuper, who hails from Anchorage, Alaska and the University of North Dakota, was given a first-round tender that is unusually high for an interior offensive lineman. Had he received a second-round tender, he may well have received a lucrative offer sheet from another club.

Still, $2.512 million is a nice raise from the $535,000 salary Kuper received last year.

ESPN's John Clayton expects the Broncos to wait until the NFL Draft to trade Brandon Marshall.

The Seahawks are going to have the leverage here. They're the only team seriously interested thus far, and they know the Broncos don't want to go into the season with a disgruntled Marshall on their roster. Clayton posits that Seattle could wait through the first round to see if the Broncos will trade Marshall for less than a first-round pick/RotoWorld

Adam Schefter has said numerous times on 850 KOA that the Broncos will not accept anything less than a first rounder for Marshall.

I'd rather give up a #1 for Marshall than draft Bulaga.

I would rather have Brandon Marshall over anyone in the draft not named Suh, Bradford, or McCoy (only if you are a 4-3 team).

If Clausen and Berry were off the board, I'd love for the Chiefs to draft Bradford and trade him to Denver for Marshall.

Win/Win (for the Chiefs only).

(Actually, would prefer to trade down under the above scenario.)

"When free agency hit, my biggest thing was Denver Broncos, Denver Broncos. When we got the call, everything else was pretty straight forward."

Green said he was happy to be playing for McDaniels again, especially after watching McDaniels on the Broncos sideline when Denver
and New England played each other last October. Denver won that game in overtime.

"The last thing I remember was him giving the fist pumps after the game, and I saw that and saw the energy and saw the players playing for him. Everyone wants to play for a coach like that," Green said. "For me, I was in New England for all that time, and I was ready to move on, period. Just watching Josh on the sideline, I was like, I want to feel that too."

How do you feel losing your two best offensive players 2 years in a row?

Ryan Clady hasn't and won't be going anywhere.

During last offseason Chalrie Weis talked to McDaniels and told him to go after Brady Quinn. Does that make Weis a dumbass or a QB mastermind?

Neither. He was simply trying to pimp out his QB coaching skills. Brady Quinn = David Carr.
