I can see it now:
1) Pioli trades Bowe for 2nd round pick. 2) Pioli pimps idea of how attractive the 1st round QB's are. 3) Pioli takes top 5 pick and trades down, selects DE/OL and takes QB in round 2. 4) Pioli states how he addressed all needs by trading down, adding depth to ol/dl, and QB. 5) Acts confused when 30,000 fans show up angry with torches... |
Part of Bowe's master plan ever since his hold-out.

We had a pile of cash waiting to throw at our elite players. Carr was too pricey. Bowe is apparently too pricey. When does this shit end? For all we know Pioli is saying with this trade, "Okay, gang. Let's regroup. We'll retain Albert, Colquitt, Dorsey, and keep the true fans who love linemen and kickers." Again. What are we looking at? Two second rounders? Yeah, that's something for nothing if Bowe is apparently really wanting out (which I doubt... he probably just wants to get paid). But geez, if we draft our QB, wouldn't it be ****ing nice to have Bowe instead of Baldwin, Breaston, and a midget? |

Carr wanted to be in Dallas. Gonna put a gun to his head and force him to sign the contract? |

Hearing that Bowe "badly wants out" helps minimize the anger. Makes people think "Well, if he's not staying, we gotta get something for him". As demonstrated repeatedly in this thread. Wouldn't you say that Pioli just might have an interest in minimizing fan anger these days? |

Players get old and they want to win. When they spend their careers on a piece of crap team, they want to move elsewhere... it's as simple as that. The players aren't as loyal as the fans, and they shouldn't be. If I grew up a Chiefs fan my whole life and got drafted by the Raiders, I would be fucking miserable. (but yes, I would collect my paycheck until my contract was up). |

By all accounts, no side budged in negotiations and Bowe held out after being tagged and the deadline for contract talks passed. |

We we're granted a cap exception. We HAD EXTRA to spend this year after spending under the year before. Where did we spend it? Not on Carr. Not on Bowe. Albert isn't signed long term. Dorsey isn't signed long term. As I understand it cuts this year don't count towards that number. Accelerated bonuses don't count. Even with the signing of our wilted flower at RT and our highly overpaid CB we still didn't get near that "gifted" cap number. |
