I completely agree. But maclin is a much better option than Avery and Bowe for that type of thing. Cross routes, slants, hooks.

The combination of speed and precision that Maclin brings gets him Alex Smith open.

Now, clearly, Calvin Johnson in't someone that I'm going pass just because of Maclin, but Smith would not utilize Johnson as effectively as Stafford, and probably lower his production by about 300-500 yards.

I don't see Maclin's production drop as steep.

Peyton Manning has relied on yac his entire career.

Of his record 5500 yards a couple years ago, 3800 was yac.
