For someone who has just started working out it might be possible, but not for a 300 lb man. Of course, we all remember David Boston getting yoked pretty much overnight.

Fisher might be taking something that is undetected. Hell, if I was playing at the NFL level I would do the same.

It's actually POSSIBLE to gain 5 lbs in a month but it's highly unlikely to do so naturally. Anything over 2lbs in a month is pushing it. Anything less than 1lb and you are either slacking or maxed out.

Gaining pure muscle is hard as hell. 2lbs per month is pretty much impossible unless you are taking steroids.

Not true at all. Any regular Joe who says they gain a pound of muscle a month is lying.

I'm not saying it is easy but the consensus is 2lb/month is completely reasonable. Hard as hell but reasonable, especially for someone whose career depends on it.

I'm talking about pro athletes here, not regular joes. I should have made that clear.

I always wondered what David Boston was on:

It's even harder for pro Athletes to gain pounds of muscle as their muscles are already large enough as it is and they're closer to their genetic potential than the majority of people.

I think the point here is that Fisher is NOT close to his potential. We don't know this for a fact but that is the assumption we are going on. IF true and he can stand to gain 15 lbs it is reasonable to expect him to gain 10 of that in 5-6 months. Obviously as he gets closer to his max the process will slow down.

We are talking about adding 5 pounds in 4 almost 5 months.

For a guy in a NFL strength and conditioning program, that's sad.

Also, lets not act as if Fishers frame is muscle bound, the guy looks very soft for a 300 pounder. Adding muscle when you have a fat % like Fisher isn't as hard as you're making it seem.

It doesn't matter what type of strength and conditioning program he's on. 5 pounds of muscle is still hard as hell to get.

I think people don't really understand what it takes to add pounds of muscle.

No it's not reasonable at all to expect ANYONE to gain 10 pounds of muscle in 5-6 months.

Right or wrong?

If you think I'm wrong, start naming names of worse first overall picks.

David Carr
Tim Couch
Courtney Brown
Kijana Carter
Jamarcus Russell
