Obviously contracts will continue to go up as the money does, but I wonder if there will come a point where more teams determine some of these huge contracts aren't efficient. Especially the way teams use analytics. Probably not, but it's hard to imagine the Red Sox will get full value out of that contract.

I think that point is basically here, sans the extremely wealthy teams. The new market inefficiency is young, talented, cost-controlled players.

This is why I've been particularly disappointed in the last two competitive balance drafts.
