LOL. Can’t argue with that. But if CJ ends up with anything less than what the Chiefs offered, it’s gonna be a bad look for those agents. (That and all the lost $$ for staying at home.)

He's actually going to sit 8 games, isn't he?

In58men 09-03-2023 12:14 PM

He’s still out here recruiting lol

It’s really starting to feel that way. If the chiefs really don’t want to give him 9 million more over the contract(can’t blame them), and he is not willing to accept less, and he is willing to sit games, we shouldn’t expect him back sooner.

This kinda sucks because the bridge between Jones and the chiefs will be burnt, and Jones being such a jackass is going to hurt his trade value as well. What organization can afford to pay that kind of money AND give up a load of draft capital.

Then it drops his tag numbers for the next 2 years. He is looking more and more like his buddy LeVeon Bell.

Actually I think he looks worse than Bell.

Yes, Bell lost money holding out.

I don't remember the details any more, but I remember thinking that Pittsburgh wanted to run Bell into the ground while he was on the Franchise tag and Pitt didn't make him a real offer.

I felt Bell was justified in giving Pitt the finger even though it cost him money.

RB's tend to get screwed financially compared to other skill positions.

It doesn't seem like KC is being that egregious.

Although in hindsight it does seem that a trade should have been explored before the draft. If nothing else, maybe it would have set a market value for CJ.

OBJ: “I’m going to hire an agent that has never negotiated a NFL contract.”
CJ: “I’m going to sit out & bluff my way into a lower salary.”

BV: “Clark, I tried to give them a fair deal. Brinks truck was loaded up both times.”

RINGLEADER 09-03-2023 12:50 PM

I only wish he had signed with a big signing bonus so we could keep part of that too.

If there was one team that can weather having a sub-par defense it’s the Chiefs. That said, I don’t think we’ll be sub-par (too much talent elsewhere), but at least we know we can score points.

Chris Jones' ego may stagger a bit. When he sees fans are more upset about missing out on a first round WR than him

True, but the contract he is allegedly turning down has a huge guarantee. Google says that including this season his career earning are 87 million

To be fair after taxes he'll only have $43million left and he'll still have to take care of his family!

There are no sacred cows on this team.

If Jones left for greener pastures but did it amicably, I’d be all cool with it.

Now? Fans are going to celebrate when his ass is gone.

Strongside 09-03-2023 01:14 PM

Im ready to ship him the **** outta here. He’s becoming an off the field distraction.
