I would be all for a rebuild at this point. Take Holiday, Wainwright, and Rasmus and build from there. Trade Carp, you are probably going to be forced to let AP walk because i don't think you will be able to get him to waive his NTC.

I was stating an opinion on what Cardinal nation would think of the idea. My teams have been set since before kindergarten and I'll just take em with me the rest of my time on the earth until I become work food.

No it's not. 2007 reminds of this year. There were quite a few injuries.

We suffered like Royals fans in the mid-late 70's. They sucked bad, the managers and ownership seemed out of town, out of touch. Got embrassed all the time. No hope etc.

BTW, we still got 22K out to watch those pathetic games.

I don't see the Cardinal fan base supporting a youth rebuild.

What hasn't this fanbase supported?

I don't think we've had our per-game attendance drop below 20k since 1980.

And even in some of the lean years in the late 80's and early 90's we were between 30-35k, IIRC.

Build the team around guys like Holiday, Wainwright, Rasmus, Freese, and you're talking.

This.

I wouldn't mind Berkman being traded midway through the season for a prospect like Luis Perdomo.

Perdomo was the guy the Cards from the Tribe for Anthony Reyes.

We will rally around Lance Berkman and play good baseball.

Scott Pilgrim 04-13-2011 08:17 PM

Berkman is on fire god damn!

Marcellus 04-13-2011 08:18 PM

Looks like the Berkman signing was tits. Just hit a slam and has 4 HR in this series.

Wow.

Bet berkman has a no trade clause in his contract.
