Cornerback Brandon Flowers has generated a fair amount of interest around the league since his release from the Chiefs last week and it seems Flowers wants to explore more of what’s out there before settling on his next team.
Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports that Flowers’ visit with the Chargers came to an end without the two sides agreeing on a contract for the 2014 season. Per Gehlken, the “overall sense” is that the visit went well, although there’s no word on the likelihood that Flowers winds up in San Diego.
Flowers is expected to take at least one more visit before signing with anyone. The Lions and Steelers are a couple of the other teams that have been linked with a Flowers pursuit, while the Falcons and Vikings were thought to be in the mix before recent reports pegged them as out of the running for the cornerback’s services.
If the Chargers and Flowers do find their way back to one another, San Diego has an open roster spot to fill after parting ways with safety Brandon Taylor on Thursday.
