I’m so over this shit….report or not, I don’t care.

We got a season and a title to defend. Everyone else is locked in, ready to get this going…

Now? Fans are going to celebrate when his ass is gone.

Yeah, ****ing nerds will. Same dorks that got worked up about Frank Clark or Eric Berry.

Dude gave his professional all for the club. Gave fans two championships. I’m grateful for that and sorry the negotiations went south, but it’s 2023/24 season and the team is moving on. Maybe y’all should too.

I predicted he would be traded. We’ll see if he holds the line.

BossChief 09-03-2023 01:22 PM

Chris Jones “I want more money”

If he plays every game this year and plays all games next year on the tag:

52m (19.5 this year and 32.5 next year)

If he sits till week 8 and then is on the tag next year…even if he sits till week 8 again to get an accrued year…

32m (8m this year and 24m next year)

That puts him as a FA at 31 years old and likely having injury concerns or attitude concerns that would greatly impact his value to teams.

He’s just ****ing stupid, I isn’t he?

Apparently he was.

Yeah, also remember him at the parade grabbing the mic from Holthus and starting the "Run it Back" chant. Oh well.

Dorks? Nerds?

The team hasn’t moved on from Chris Jones. He’s using his absence as a weapon. It impacts us every single game he chooses to not show up. If we had traded him earlier in the offseason, totally agree with you on moving on, but that’s not remotely the case.

This is well beyond the team’s overpaying Frank Clark or Eric Berry’s not feeling healthy enough to play at a level he felt comfortable with. This is a very conscious decision of his to attempt to make the team worse for his own ends.

I don’t think we’ve begun to scratch the surface of vitriol this fan base may end up having toward Chris Jones. I think we’re all largely in shock it’s come to this.

Best case for the Chiefs might be a long holdout, and then impactful half season from Jones leading to another Super Bowl win.

Then tag and trade for a haul in the offseason.

Beginning to wonder if CJ isn't hurt some way.

Could explain some things.

I think that’s clearly 100% the best outcome but it also involves us winning a SB with Jones only playing the second half of the season. A game or two could be the difference between the bye/HFA and that counts for a lot.

Farrell I could see being inactive Thursday just to give him until week two on the 17th to get up to speed with the playbook and everything. They could elevate Dickerson or Shelton from the taxi squad. Shelton would be good to bring up if you think Detroit will try to pound the ball and control the TOP. I’ll be glad to see the new youngster at DT they got from Vegas but they don’t have to hurry him into the rotation week one.

You forget that we have Nut starting the GDTs though. It’s in the bag.

Dan Williams sat out the whole year in Marty’s last season in KC. Did wonders for his career

KC_Connection 09-03-2023 01:33 PM

Guessing we won't see Jones for a while now, but I'm really not worried about this guy reporting or not reporting and haven't all offseason. The Chiefs can and will win games as long as Patrick Mahomes is on the field.

Gotta think Mahomes’s MVP odds go up a bit.

I expect a new yardage record this year.

Has sitting out regular season games ever worked for anyone?
