They let me go home from work at 12 noon. I go from 95th & Quivira in OPKS to Independence. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the greatest car in the snow EVAH. Roads were getting bad then, lots of front wheel drive cars getting stuck on uphill slopes. I went right up the hill from Southwest Blvd up 31st Street by WDAF, no problem, but there were three or four cars stuck trying to go up the hill. I also answered an age old question by stopping at Gates & Sons on Brooklyn on the way home for carry out. Yes, I WOULD crawl thru a blizzard for some KC BBQ.

And it was good too!

Have a feeling the urban districts with a higher proporation of kids on subsidized lunches may try to hold school Friday so some of the kids won't go a full week between hot meals. Yes, for some of these kids the free/reduce school lunches are their only hot meals.

Snow plows are now in my neighborhood. I just went outside for about 40 minutes or so, everything is frozen.

In order to spite the snow, I have gone out to the shed, and gulp down some vodka and lemon lime soda. The Swiss Hot Chocolate was ****ing good, with real milk and marshmallows. **** you, snow, but you have given me a legitimate excuse to stay home, take off my pants, and enjoy myself to the max.
