If Bowe didn't care about winning, he wouldn't have committed to LSU. There's only so much that you can ask of a great player.

I love that these rumors came out the day that we learned Cassel was back to taking first team snaps. If I were Bowe, I'd take one look at that and say "Hell naw. My ass is heading to South Beach."

I don't blame Bowe for one second for wanting out of town.

To me, this is Jared Allen all over again. We have a legit playmaker. If we trade him, we'll likely get hefty compensation. That compensation could be used to move up in the draft if needed. But it also helps to ensure that we will finish the season at the bottom of the league, which is frankly of paramount importance to the future of this franchise. It would signify four mighty events:

1. Pioli getting fired.
2. Romeo getting fired.
3. Cassel being cut.
4. In position to draft Geno Smith.

I love me some D-Bowe, but if sacrificing him saves the village, then I say clean the altar and hand me the knife.

I don't want a repeat of Jared Allen, where we watch him go off and have perennial Pro Bowl years while we struggle. Then again, the Jared Allen trade did net us Branden Albert and Jamaal Charles.

All of this is moot (once again) without a QB. Bowe, to me, is more valuable as an asset to move up for Geno. I was advocating packaging him last year to move up for RG3. Alas.

It boils down to this for me:

I'd rather have Geno and no Bowe than Bowe and Cassel.

And Bowe won't take a discount to leave town....

I'm pretty sure Clark Hunt burned his bridges.

I don't think clark has the 'nads to can him either.

Pioli will continue his ratatouille nonsense for another year or 2 before he (Clark) makes a change.

Two ****ing years. Wasted.

Drafting boy scouts and at-best 2nd stringers in the 2nd round of the draft.

Hmmm... Not sure I agree with this. Baldwin, Houston...

There no bridge burned down that a pile of money doesn't restore.

Baldwin ****ing blows so far and Houston was a gift.

If the dude hadn't been dumb enough to spark up a week before the Combine, he wouldn't have been there at #6 in the third round.

Let's not forget that Pioli chose Rodney Hudson before Houston.

Way to miss the point entirely.

Houston fits the profile but he had some "leaf" in his ledger that dropped him.

I have no idea why we ever drafted Baldwin outside of the reeruned number of high throws our starting QB lobs out there...

Bleacherreport isn't the source?

The link he posted is from Bleacherreport.

Never mind, you weren't involved yesterday. I was highlighting another Chiefsplanet double standard.

I think he's saying that they weren't boy scouts.

"If Pioli doesn't care about public opinion, then why is he doing damage control across the KC media?"

Because he cares about Clark's opinion. That's all that matters to him.

I can't see Bowe staying. I don't think he ever planned on it. However, I don't think Pioli ever planned on signing him either. I think Pioli thought we would be good this year and Bowe would be the "icing on the cake" in a very good receiving corps.

At this point I hope we can get something for him. The reality is that he's a goner and we should get more than a 3rd round comp pick in 2014.

We are 1-5 and trading him is the smart thing to do.... If we can find a partner.... I read this morning that Miami doesn't want him because he is too much like Marshall...
