also, I can't endorse Ensure for light meal enhancements, it's a great product, though, I try to buy the light, but the regular has 250 calories per can, but is just loaded w/ good shit.

Silock 02-23-2010 04:15 PM

Yuck.

ROFL I know, on a budget combined w/ time restraints, makes it tough to get too creative. What's even more sad, I'm a chef by trade. ROFL

The Yuck was directed at the Ensure, not the other. I'd rather just drink protein smoothies than Ensure. Blehlkshdg.

i am getting used to going on a diet again, the first week sucked balls. I already took in my cals for the day 1200 or so. Now it's just like pace until I go to bed.

philfree 02-23-2010 05:26 PM

Morning:
200 plus crunches
60 windmill style toe touches(thinking this movement will help prepare me for some golfing and also work the waist line)
30 step ups on each leg (it's a pretty high step and this is great for balance as well as leg strength and I try to work on my insteps as another golf thing)

Lunch:
3 sets of 15 reps squats
3 sets of 12 reps quad raises
3 sets of 10 reps hamys

Of course I did some stretching and some light tricep work with a golf club. Hold the golf club above and behind your head and then straighten one arm and then the other back and forth or side to side(whatever). Do about 50 or so and see if you get something. You can reverse it and push back and forth to do your biceps.

Had a bowl oatmeal for breakfast. Also took two gtreen tea fat burning supplements and one of another bout an hour later.
One bite of left over philly chilly Spagetti for lunch.
One bite of the same and one bite of turkey for an after work snack.
Just took a sip of red wine.
sniffled and wiped my nose.
cracked my neck.
and posted this.

Not really. You can buy a 5 lbs tub of whey powder with 26g of protein per scoop for $38. That will last you, literally, months. Way more cost effective.

You need to focus on stabilization, not movement. Crunches are useless as far as training your core to do what it is designed to do. Your core is the only thing that keeps you from falling over. Its job is to stabilize the body.

You need to work planks, side planks, supermans, birddogs, and MAYBE some reverse crunches. I guarantee you that those exercises will do WAY more to help you than crunches and toe touches.

You definitely need the protein, but you don't need to go overboard with. Don't become protein obsessed. As long as you get some in every day, you'll be fine.

I thought you were supposed to consume whey within 8 minutes of finishing weight lifting. IIRC, you told me that back in 08. I apologize if I'm wrong and it was someone else. The only thing I'm "obsessing" over is calories.

I've been a little over the top, I admit. I kind of require that starting out. Then I get a little scared of letting go some because I fear falling off. Eventually though I even out and just do my thing. I'm getting close.

I fully admit that I'm an overthinker and don't really know how to stop.
