You can eliminate Houston for Peyton.

Was never worried about them.

Would be nice to hear Miami and Arizona were eliminated.

I suppose we will learn a lot in the new 10 days or so in regards to Arizona. Isn't Kolb's bonus due on the 17th?

Yes. mort was just saying he wouldn't be surprised to see him sign close to the start of free agency on tue.

He has a lot of ground to cover in terms of meetings, workouts, and physicals.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the 13th. I think a couple of weeks is more realistic.

Speaking of workout...

Next step for Peyton: Workout(s)

So Peyton Manning is a free agent, perhaps the biggest name to hit the open market in league history. So what’s next, apart from the perfunctory speculation on the teams that may be interested? (It’s on my to-do list to do just that.)

Before anyone will sign Peyton Manning, he’ll need to show that he can throw. And if he hopes to find a new team before the game of musical chairs known as free agency commences, he’ll need to get some workouts scheduled.

Manning’s camp knew that he’d most likely be cut this week. Thus, like a free agent who somehow has a plane ticket in his hand the moment the market opens, why hasn’t Manning already lined up his first visit?

The fact that no visits have been reported or announced is prompting speculation among some league insiders that, notwithstanding last week’s Zapruder film, he doesn’t yet have the ability to throw the way he needs to throw in order to get teams to throw money at him.

If this process doesn’t move quickly, that speculation could have some merit.

Lovely.

We'll have weeks of this $3it...

If this is true then when it comes to Miami they are going to want to know if they are getting manning before free agency starts. Because I firmly believe if they can't land peyton they will be going after flynn hard and if they wait while wooing manning they could miss out on both.

I don't want it to drag on. I want to know that kc will mess this up ASAP and end my pain quickly.

I agree.

I want this over tomorrow.

But realistically it won't be that quick. Depends on how soon he is ready to workout. Whether it will be one workout for everyone, or private individual workouts. And how many visits he goes on vs. doing meetings over the phone...

Could see a marquee guy like manning having one private workout and inviting teams?

I like NFL Net a helluva lot better than ESPN (although Schefter/Clayton are better than LaCanfora/Breer), but one guy on NFLN this morning said the following when talking about Manning's possible destinations:

"Kansas City... They've got a good, young quarterback in Matt Cassel, but is he the guy to get you through the AFC Playoffs?..."

Yeah, no joke. If we get him, it'll all be worth it.

If we don't.... Well.......:banghead::cuss::#

Rich Eisen asked Jeff Saturday about that during the combine and Jeff shot it down.

Said it would be one of the most insulting things to ask Peyton to do and that he would have no part in it.
