Not imo.

He disappeared for like half of the regular season.

I agree. But Baltimore didnt sign him before he won a championship, and couldnt exactly let him walk. He has time to prove it.

6 4th quarter comebacks/game winnig drives in 2011 for Alex. Hey, got to find something positive.

Hootie 03-14-2013 08:54 PM

I don't think Smith has anywhere near the talent Flacco has...

but Smith is WAY more consistent...Flacco looks like Marino some games and then reverts to full Sanchez in other games.

Elite QB's show up every Sunday...Flacco shows up like 6 times a regular season and then puts on his magic playoff hat and has played really well the past two postseasons.

I just don't understand how a guy can look that good and not look that good every time. I don't trust him. MAYBE, MAYBE the Super Bowl gets him that 'swagger' and he develops into THE franchise guy this year...

but I have a feeling he'll be the same old Joe Flacco and with all of the defensive starters they are losing I have a feeling that may not be good enough to even get into the playoffs where he can slip on that magic playoff hat

t

It's easy to be consistent when you only make high percentage throws and your defense doesn't need more than 20 pts to chalk up a W.

Flacco > Smith because of playoff performance, this isn't hard to understand.

Flacco had an up and down regular season, duh.

So PFF stats for Sean Smith are absolute and Flacco's are a fluke? What are you trying to prove with the posting of stats?

You can't compare positions.

But, Alex was 18th in 2012, so I'd say they're pretty indicative of reality.

Pasta Little Brioni 03-14-2013 09:04 PM

He'd have been close to Top 10 again if he played the full season

I don't see what the issue of having your QB throw high percentage throws but...ok ROFL

look if he's throwing 5 yard passes on 3rd and 10 then **** me...

but he went 19-5 the past two seasons...which tells me we can win if we build an elite team like San Fran

to me that isn't an ideal way to build a football team...you build around a QB...Alex Smith isn't a franchise QB who is going to post 40+ ratings on PFF...

I want one of those. Everyone wants one of those.

Can't fault Reid if he doesn't see that in Geno. It is what it is. I'm not a miserable ****ing whiny little girl so I'm not going to go full OTWP and cry about every single thing every single year. I'd rather enjoy my existence on this planet.

Curious what Cassel's fluke season of 2010 ranked.

I've ripped on the trade as much as anyone, but he's had some clutch drives in the 4th especially in 2011. You can't take those for granted in this league.

Hootie 03-14-2013 09:06 PM

Rahim Moore made Joe Flacco a whole lot more money than Joe Flacco is worth. That was every bit the miracle (if not more) than the Titans 'Music City Miracle' that got them to a Super Bowl as well.

Rahim Moore picks that ball off (or at least knocks it down like any ****ing safety worth a shit does on a hail mary)...and Flacco is still thought of as an inconsistent fringe top 10-15 QB with upside.

Now he's paid more than anyone.

Ridiculous. The Ravens had to do it, too.

I'd be happy as hell if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl but if I were a Ravens fan I wouldn't really be looking forward to this next season...the cap hell they were in plus the Flacco contract means they are staring 8-8 right in the face IMHO

PFF knows what they're watching.

There's no issue with it.

When that's ALL he does, because he's AFRAID to throw it down the field...that's the issue.

He won games because of his defense. PERIOD.
