I like it, too. KC has a big and physical DL (this is where having guys who can set the edge and hold up against the run but aren't super bendy pays off) and pretty good depth.

And the LB corps is really good against the run. Having a SLB who is an absolute freak speed-strength guy who loves contact like Chenal is also helpful, as is Bolton's ability to come downhill and shoot gaps. Everyone does his job, too - you don't see much freelancing.

Yeah, that was big. If the Eagles try to cover him with Baun or Burks or Gardner-Johnson straight up, or don't dedicate extra resources, he can still put guys in the blender.

Something else that I have noticed is that it feels like Philly tries to “out-talent” other teams, especially on offense. Their offense is heavily dependent on Barkley being successful on the ground as well as QB designed runs. I wonder if they stick with that or if they try to become more pass happy, which plays into the strength of this defense. KC is known for getting teams to play the game KC wants, not the game they usually play. Just a thought.

I think the Chiefs playing the Bills really helps them prepare for the Eagles. Same style of offense but with a lesser QB.

Need to prepare for the RPO like the runs Mahomes scored on. Think we’ll see those plays from the Eagles

I don't look at the Eagles any better than I do the Ravens. Ravens had a great rushing game as well too (ranked 1st in fact).

Hopkins is fine, but I just think the staff feels the offense operates best as a whole with Worthy, Brown, and JuJu. It's not that JuJu is better, he just fits that role of the #3 better than D-Hop right now.

They want the speed out there, those guys aren't coming off the field. So for that #3, it's apparent they want someone who will do the dirty work. A kickass blocker, which JuJu is on those screens. He plays full speed every rep. He's not a slouch either - we saw as recently as last week he can still break off explosives.

So even though D-Hop is a little better than JJSS IMO, once Hollywood came back, it seems his role is now just a red zone threat.

No doubt spags is going to load the box and dare them to throw on 1st downs.

Yeah seem to be using JuJu a an undersized tight end. JuJu also seems to be linked in with Pat and finds the soft spots in zones. While Hollywood and Worthy run away from man coverage.

Bottomline: they need Jalen Carter and Saquon Barkley to have the their best games if they want to win. If they don’t get a consistent above average pass rush on Mahomes then they are done.

I expect Spags to blitz the shit out of Jalen Hurts to force quick decisions and also blitz the running lanes to stop their strong running game. RPO’s and the option is hard to run if the DE is not biting and the safety is blitzing off TJ edge.

I expect a very similar gameplan from Spags that he ran against the Ravens last year in the AFCCG.

I didn't know that Darian Kinnard played for the eagles. He was a waste of a pick.

All I keep hearing about is how stacked this Philly roster is.....

Didn't they almost lose to the Rams? AT home. In the snow to a dome team?

Sassy Squatch 01-31-2025 12:02 PM

Smith didn't practice? Damn, Eagles are getting some really bad injury luck. Hurts has been banged up repeatedly down the stretch with concussions and knee issues, their two best interior OL are injured, and now Smith with the hammy.

The Chiefs have "almost lost" like 11 straight games but won all of them. I don't put stock in stuff like that. The Eagles are a good team.

They sure did.

They are a good roster top-to-bottom.

They also have really nailed their past several drafts (though it helps when you're picking in the low 20s and not at 30-32 every time).

I’d recommend resting him so he’s fresh for Week 1 of next year
