A foul is a foul. I don't agree with the mind set that the refs should not decide the game in this instance. If you really think about it, the refs did decide the game by not calling what was a sure foul in my mind.

That being said, it doesn't really bother me that much since I have seen the Spurs as the benefactor of questionable officiating many times. I guess what goes around comes around. Frankly, I don't care for either team. I just hope Boston gets there and wins the whole thing. I will say that I think the Lakers are definitely more fun to watch than the Spurs.

**** Boston. I totally expect one sided calls if that series happens. Sure hope it does though

lol, Jim Rome just ripped the Spurs fans on Rome is Burning. It was great to see. Especially on ESPN where they just hate the Lakers.

I'll tell you hates the Lakers, Marv Albert. He isn't very good at covering it up either.

Ditto on Doug Collins. They're both clearly rooting for San Antonio. If the Lakers have a dry spell where they're not scoring it's "San Antonio's defense is playing really well, Lakers have missed ____ of their last ____ shots". But if the Spurs go through one of their long scoreless spells it's "San Antonio just can't get anything to go in right now", with no mention of the Lakers defense. San Antonio makes a big shot and Marv throws out his famous "YES!" every time, but those are few and far in between when the Lakers make an important basket. Doesn't matter though, Lakers will win the next game, SA's spirit is about broken at this point.

NBA acknowledges it should have been a 2-shot foul (foul before the shot). What a sham.

I have no problem with the nba calling a foul on that as long as they reset the gameclock to 24 seconds on the Fisher miss.

Why would the league comment? Are they going to publicly critique all the missed calls, just the missed calls in the last minute (Odom's goaltend was clearly a clean block getting it before it hit the backboard and Fishers rim-grazer), or just the last two seconds?

"With the benefit of instant replay, it appears a foul call should have been made," league spokesman Tim Frank said Wednesday.

I guess with the benefit of instant replay you could call a travel instead since he moves his pivot foot before dribbling.

Silly Bolt. Don't you know that they don't call traveling in the NBA?

I think that's Bush League to acknowledge something indefinite like that as a foul. NO F'ING WAY that should have been a foul in that situation. Yes, the game is called differently during the last couple minutes. Everybody knows that. If Barry steps into Fisher's block attempt Spurs win the game, but he didn't take advantage of it. Nobody in their right mind players, coaches, or fans would want that to be a called a foul if they were unbiased towards both teams. Pop even said it wasn't a foul.

If the league comes out and explicitly states that the game is supposed to be called differently in the final minutes, then fine. Until that happens, then "everybody knows that" it's called differently doesn't suffice.

Troy,
You will be proud to know that I had 6 strippers watching and celebrating the end of the game tonight with me in Phoenix. I cannot wait for a Boston-LA series again. It has been too long coming!!!
