Boogie Fland gonna be back for Arkansas.
You remember. The guy who raped our asses in the exhibition game. We are goin down in round 1. |
Didn't realize St. John's was good.
KU/MU for a 6 vs 7 match up, LFG! |
Quote:
At least we dont have to go up against St. John in the 2nd round. Ejifor will ram it up Dickinson ass all game long. Considering he left due to KU bringing in Herman Dickinson..... Ironic |
KU opens up -5.5

KCC needs to write up his doom and gloom preview of each opponent from their perspective this year.
I need to read about why Harris and KJ are the worst possible matchup for every team we play. It’s the only thing that can reverse the mojo. |

But he's not THAT good. Lots of bad passes/turnovers, missing too many down low, and CONSTANTLY leaving his guy to double team and then his guy gets the easy basket. Raw and undisciplined. Could be so much better. Thats what the guy was saying and I agree. He is a shitty defender. And a turnover machine. |

All things considered it’s the best we could have hoped for. Open up against a team that doesn’t shoot 3s well and take just as few as we do. Yes their guards are quicker than ours but everyone in the tournament has a better guard than Harris so it is what it is. Then we get the worst #2 seed who hasn’t really beat anyone elite this season. Obviously this team could lose by 20 in the first round and nobody would be surprised, but if there was ever a miracle sweet 16 run in them, this draw is about as good as it could be. I’d rather have this than Mizzou’s draw. |

But this team has two fatal issues that continue to bite them in the ass.... Turnovers Shitty Defense And if they are not scoring...which happens alot...Those flaws kill you in close games. And they cant close halfs or games. I hope they prove me wrong....And go on a run. That would be great. But my $100 is going on Arky +5.5 |
Line on draft Kings is at -4.5
|
Hey, everybody!
We’re all gonna get laid! |
Truth be told without being negative. There is a reasonable chance at a S16.
We can beat Arkansas. And we actually match up with St Johns pretty well. Old school coaches like Pitino, Sampson, Calipari we usually can ball with. The BYU, UCONN and Villanova modern basketball types tend to give us more problems stylistically. |
KJ v Zuby.
I'm here for it. |
I want KU to beat Arkansas, but I just dont see it happening. Im wrong a lot though.

Unban KCC from this thread. I know he's a bit over the top, but it's not the same without him

If ya'll want him back though, people can scroll past the garbage, I guess... I just know people have stopped posting/reading in this thread, the NBA thread, etc; because shit always comes back to the same old low IQ arguments and trolling. And if nothing else, 24 hours without talking about Dickinson or the reeruned x opponent is really hard copypasta was nice. |
I make fun of him plenty, but he's a smart and knowledgeable poster when it comes to college basketball.

Looks like I’ve been released from purgatory again just in time for the annual NCAA matchup preview. I’ve delved a bit further into it this evening and what I found has only confirmed my initial suspicions. Arkansas is a wagon. The committee knew what they were doing in setting us up with this game and it’s going to take everything this team has (and more) to survive it. Before I get to that this week, I’m just gonna note that KU has been ranked in baseball for the first time in 11 year today. First time in history that baseball is ranked and basketball isn’t at the same time?

First ranking since 2014 ✅#RockChalk pic.twitter.com/pmhbSiUVHP
— Kansas Baseball (@KUBaseball) March 17, 2025
 |

Meant to up vote this. |
This game is a toss up, coin flip at best.
Whoever brings the best game that night between 2 under performing teams. Arkansas was an unknown to start the year but Cal was able to get enough talent to be a good team. Many fans/pundit feel the team under performed in his 1st season. KU, heh, major disappointment with talent they had brought in. Rather it be the talent didn't match the system or the fact there wasn't enough consistency from each player from game to game to make KU relevant? Just a major disappointment from an under performing team! Now watch these S.O.B'S wake up and go on a deep run! Now this would be some fun! Win when we have no expectations compared to losing when we had high expectations! PBJ |
I've got us, Dook, Michigan State and Houston in the F4

Teams with talent that underperformed are always terrifying. They won’t win it all, but they can beat you. |
There are so many variables going into the tournament.
If we can even get AVERAGE guard play from DaJuan I can see this team heading to the Sweet 16. |

This year hasn’t been much of an underperformance. The talent was overrated from the beginning (zero NBA players). They’re often the less athletic team on the court. Not Self’s finest roster construction. That said, they’ve also shown they can compete with anybody.
|
We’ll win somewhere between 0 and 6 games in the tournament

Why not us?
I'll tell you why. Because we've been a top 4 seed for a quarter century in a row. We don't get to play tournament games at Allen Field house. We've been to 16 Final Fours and won six national Championships. Its time to let the others fight it out. We've had it too good. |

We’re going to win it all.
Or we won’t. That’s my prediction. |
I could easily see us getting hot, make to the Elite 8 !
Yes that would mean we get a little revenge on Texas Tec. We are not consistent enough to get further. BTA, we could lose in the 1st round! :bolt: Since none of us know and our expectations are so low, screw it, just win it all! :harumph: |
Making it to the Sweet 16 feels like it would be a major accomplishment for this team.

I was wrong.
After a further deep dive into the strengths, weaknesses, and KenPom ratings of these two teams, there’s only one conclusion that can be drawn: KU is going to annihilate Arkansas. On offense, the Razorbacks struggle significantly (73rd in offensive efficiency) while not being a particularly strong shooting (88th in eFG%) or free throw team (107th in FTA/FGA). While they have an accomplished veteran guard in Johnell Davis who led his Florida Atlantic team to a FF, KU has two of the best shut down defenders in the country in Dajuan Harris and KJ Adams who are literal national champions and one of the best shot blocking bigs in the country (Flory Bidunga, 16th in block rate) coming off the bench. KU has been an excellent defensive team all season (11th in defensive efficiency) and there is every reason to believe that they can limit the scoring of an injured Arkansas team in the absence of their best and most efficient interior scorer Adou Theiro. On defense, while Arkansas is more known for its success in this area (18th in defensive efficiency) with one of the top shot blocking bigs in the country in Ivisic, he is nothing that the best offensive KU player in over a decade can’t handle. All-American Hunter Dickinson is an absolute force in the interior and forces teams consistently into double teams when he’s not torching opposing players in the post. If Calipari makes the same choice that many other coaches have, he’ll be giving up open threes to two of the best sharp shooting guards in the country in Zeke Mayo (41.3% from 3) and Diggy Coit (38.7% from 3) in addition to a FF-experienced wing in Rylan Griffen who rained threes down all tournament last year. It is undeniable that KU was absolutely screwed by the committee this year with its seed but it is nothing that a team with this kind of talent can’t handle. This group took down the current betting favorite to win the entire tournament in Duke, beat another top 2 seed in MSU and had another championship favorite on the ropes after completely outplaying them all game in Houston. If this KU team plays at its top level, Arkansas will be no more than a gnat to them on the road to a historic Final Four run. Ultimately, we are the ****ing Kansas Jayhawks. The best and winningest goddamn program in college basketball history. This is our time. Our moment. And nobody, especially not John Calipari and his flawed Arkansas team, is going to stand in the way of that. |
That's the spirit!

They showed toughness, but Houston absolutely destroyed them with 2nd chance shots and as a result took 26 more shots. That is a huge deal, and thats why they lost. You're spot on with the KU pedigree, but this year's KU team is not of that elk. Having said that, best of luck against Arkansas. Hope KU blows the Hogs out. |
Hog Hunting tomorrow is about beating Arkansas in basketball.
When I was at KU, Hog Hunting was desperation hours at the Hawk near closing time. Let’s roll, boys. |
Perry Ellis still plays for Kansas he just changed his name to Hunter Dickinson /stolen
