I'd either go S or ILB at this point. Even if he is nuts about Zach Thomas...the guy is 50 years old.
|
No matter how much he blows the Cowboys are never getting rid of Roy Williams.
|
Since Parker missed his last pick, I'm gonna give him tonight to make the pick.
If he misses, I'll take it, since I have the Cowboys. I'll make it before I leave for work in the AM, that way we aren't held up an extra 4 hours. |
Through nearly three rounds:
6 - QB 7 - RB 0 - FB 12 - OT 4 - OG 0 - C 5 - TE 10 - WR 10 - DT 8 - DE 7 - OLB 3 - ILB/MLB 10 - CB 4 - S 0 - ST Thoughts? |
I think the Chiefs fans OL homerism has cranked up the OL picks to an unrealistic number...

Without a doubt. My team in this draft needs 1 or 2 and I haven't gotten one yet. Urgency will start to take shape. |

There are a lot of ways the Cowboys could go here, but in the end, they decide to stay true to the board, as opposed to reaching a bit for a safety or LB.
The Dallas Cowboys select Eddie Royal, WR, Virginia Tech Royal is a burner that will instantly assume the KR duties, and more than likely the PR duties from Terrence Newman. (I've never understood why teams take the risk of using a guy like Newman back there....) He'll also very likely step right into the #3 WR spot. The Cowboys are terribly thin at WR, with TO, Crayton and Terry Glenn. Glenn is just about/should be done, and TO is on the wrong side of 30. |
After taking Trevor Laws with their first pick, Indianapolis still has needs at OLB, OG, and depth at DE. The release of Rob Morris earlier in the off season leaves a starting spot open at OLB and even if they hadn't released him, their starter was Rob Morris!!!!
The Indianapolis Colts select Geno Hayes, OLB, Florida St. |

Craig Steltz would have been fine value for the Cowboys at this juncture.
I don't think Royal's a bad pick, but WR is thin but ultimately fine going into this season, and S remains a need. |
Not much has changed other than Johnson being off the board, but here's my current top 10.
1. MLB Beau Bell (UNLV) 2. C Mike Pollak (Arizona State) 3. RB Mike Hart (Michigan) 4. MLB Jonathan Goff (Vanderbilt) 5. QB Eric Ainge (Tennessee) 6. SS Craig Steltz (LSU) 7. WR Donnie Avery (Houston) 8. CB Trae Williams (USF) 9. RB Steve Slaton (West Virginia) 10. DE/OLB Darrell Robertson (Georgia Tech) |
The Giants select Tyrell Johnson of Arkansas St.
Unfortunately for the Giants there is no prototypical FS on the board at this point, but there is the next best thing. A talented versatile safety with the timed speed to become a solid FS with good coaching and improved coverage skills that should come with time. Good upside. |
You know I went looking at rankings again, it really is staggering how the value of this draft has been killed.
You're suppose to be drafting for the team you got not the Chiefs, example way to many OL have been taken in this draft while there are a bunch of TE's who should have been picked already available. This is a god awful Guard draft there's 2 that deserve to go in the first 3 rounds yet 5 are gone already? Cmon......this is rather unrealistic now that I actually studied it. |
