The Cincinnati Bengals select Charles Walker DT Oklahoma
If he didn't get that concussion this guy would be a lot higher then he is. With that said it is a major risk to take but he has huge upside and is a disruptive force in the inside. |
Got home after a long day and flipped on NFLN for backround noise while I read for a bit. They just got done going through the Seahawks and both Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah both agreed that Rasul Douglas would be a great pick for them in the second round.
From everything I've read, he's a better fit in our defense. I know some of you don't respect the site (I often disagree with them, too) but PFF ranks Rasul Douglas as the 63rd best player in the whole draft. Walter had him as the 78th best player in the draft. The guy lead all of college football in interceptions. I'm sorry some of you didn't like the pick, but I think it would be a great one with a comp third...with how Dorsey likes to draft corners in the third round (Nelson, Gaines) it's possible he ends up a Chief. Give this kid to Emmitt Thomas and Al Harris to continue to develop his ball skills and technique and he could develop into a difference making starter. |

Though NFL scouts rated West Virginia CB Rasul Douglas as a UDFA coming into the season, according to Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, the analyst believes Douglas "could end up as a third-round pick." "The fact that Douglas measured 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds during Senior Bowl weigh-ins only makes him more attractive to NFL teams," Pauline wrote. "I feel he’s one of the better bump-and-run corners in the draft but will struggle in any system that asks him to play backed off the line of scrimmage." Last season, his first as a starter, Douglas was a Walter Camp All-American after leading the nation with eight interceptions. Source: Draft Analyst Feb 20 - 4:58 PM |
