Yeah, from that view it looks like they elected the worst possible of all worlds.

A flattened out lower bowl puts folks from about mid-way (who aren't going to get that 'blimp' feel either way) further off the field, which from the lower bowl s a greater concern than being elevated.

Then as they went higher in elevation, rather than go 'out' to keep fans lower, they went up. Worse still, with no overhang, they started from way out off the field to begin with. By the time they get into that third deck, you're way off the field AND are essentially going straight up.

And that's all compounded by the open end zones that necessitated such a sprawling setup to begin with by simply removing tens of thousands of potential seats that then need to be crammed between the end goal lines.

It's just a REALLY bad design. In looking at the photo of it, I understand more now why it felt like every seat was awful. They simply appear to have picked the worst possible layout at every single step.

Like I said - it's a shit venue.

Balto 01-06-2023 11:08 AM

If vote passes and its comes down to Chiefs vs Bills, I'd like to see that game played in AZ. Would be much easier for a team to just stay in AZ for the SB...PLUS I could go watch the game muahaha

As I said on Wednesday. His lungs should recover in a week, and he had no tracheotomy, after a round of tests on his heart and circulation, he could actually play this year. I doubt if they go there, but he could potentially play with no risk.

One thing I'm sick of is people bringing up the fact that the Chiefs lost to the Bills and Cincy as if that makes this all unfair.

All that means is the Chiefs losses are to better teams than theirs.

H2H is a tiebreaker. That's it.

Game Cancelled. (Rule book - if game cannot continue after day 2, canceled)

Winning Percentage is determining Seeds and Bye Week. (by rule book)

Neutral Location in a game 3-4 weeks away based on how the canceled game might have ended I think disrupts everything the least amount AND doesn't change the schedule. (voted on due to being fair, after a unique circumstance). It also might not even be needed.

Move on.

Why couldn't they resume on Tues/Wed?

Those same people never bring up that Cincy got blown out by Jacoby Brissett and lost to Cooper Rush and Mitch Trubisky(at home) or that Buffalo got beat by Zach Wilson and Kirk Cousins.

Fellas, we are spoiled as **** by that stadium. I know they're talking about building a new one, but they oughta just build THAT again someplace.

I always enjoy the road fans coming in and sitting near us because they are universally in awe of this place by the middle of the 1st quarter. Or some schmuck that hand-waives it because "hey, I've been to The Swamp to see LSU...."

When the noobs come sit near us it reminds me a bit of how normal the experience has become for me. It's why I like to get to road games when I can to remind me of how special the place is. I've been to over 100 games at Arrowhead now; the shock/awe is largely gone. But I need to be reminded at times of how perfect the joint really is and how spoiled I've become by it.

But yeah - it's totally unreasonable that I should be chagrined by losing an AFCCG there. I mean it's not like my favorite memory of a sports fan is being in the stands and watching them hoist the Hunt trophy after beating Tennessee or anything. Hell, I'll always remember that Patriots loss. (The Bengals loss didn't happen).

As a fan, this is a kick in the dick. The experience of being there is simply being taken away in some ridiculous attempt at unearned 'equity' for a team that had the ball in their court and elected to walk away.

For those that don't make it to the stadium often, I can see how this could be much ado about nothing. For those of us that make that journey every weekend, this is absolutely bullshit.

From an authoritative source:

Quote:

Calvinball has no rules; the players make up their own rules as they go along, so that no Calvinball game is like another.

Rules cannot be used twice (except for the rule that rules cannot be used twice), and any plays made in one game may not be made again in any future games.

wah wah wah. Stop crying. This isn't even true.

I'd never consider what the Bills and Bengals went through Monday as "an extra bye week." The psychological ramp up of getting ready for the game, traveling, warming up, playing a quarter, and then the emotional toll of what happened, for both teams, is enormous. I would bet very few of them slept on Monday night at all.

The Franchise 01-06-2023 11:22 AM

This practically allows the NFL and the refs to cruise the Bills to a championship with no one able to argue it. Can’t wait.

Right. It takes multiple days to come off the drugs they have to put you on to keep intubated patients from bucking the tube. If he was breathing on his own and talking this morning, they knew he was recovering on Wednesday. Maybe not to what extent, but enough that his life was no longer in immediate jeopardy.

Well we are going to know if the owners are as woke as the people in the head office.

I would have to think most owners won't like this because what if it were them, I mean you finally get to a AFC Championship and you can't host it because of some fluke BS earlier in the season. That's revenue out of their pocket and community. Its a big blow to these local communities.

This is going to be goddamn unbearable. Both in the media, and watching refball all postseason long making damn sure the Bills make it to the Super Bowl.

Doesn't really matter if the Chiefs make the AFC title game and it's played in Arrowhead or a neutral site, the flags will be coming anytime someone farts near a Buffalo player. Going to be a blast to watch, especially with a good portion of braindead fans pretending it's not happening and actively cheering it on.

No, not a subscriber to the rigged bullshit. But yes, the media will be driving narratives that push the whole country to be rooting for them, and whoever beats them will have their win discredited by talking heads one way or another because the Bills didn't win.

So much cringe.

No, not a subscriber to the rigged bullshit. But yes, the media will be driving narratives that push the whole country to be rooting for them, and whoever beats them will have their win discredited by talking heads one way or another because the Bills didn't win.

Rigged or no rigged, the NFL has their postseason "story"

Dude is probably set for life now...guess it's a good trade for him.

All this talk about the AFCCG and where it is played in regards to us… We are glossing over one thing.. We have to win a playoff game at home to get there.. Hope the Chiefs will concentrate on that..

Monticore 01-06-2023 11:29 AM

I could see them voting no and going with the existing plan in place .

i mean most teams should oppose this out of just concern of setting a shitty precedent

Well look at that. The Bengals have publicly had enough of being Mr. Nice Guy now that they realized that they got screwed for it.

NFL considering splitting the name of the AFCCG trophy

honestly this is the only thing that makes logical sense. theres gonna be a few teams that probably are gonna go with the woke/focus group/ emotional / PR way but any logical person is gonna go with the established in-place rules...

Pepe Silvia 01-06-2023 11:31 AM

I miss it when the Bengals sucked. I liked that better.

Cincy is a much stronger team than Buffalo. If there’s one thing that’s been proven several times since we beat them in the AFCCG two years ago, it’s that they are still mentally soft like they’ve always been.

Since Hamlin’s well being is more important to Bills fans than football, we should start a social media campaign demanding that the Bills extend his contract at $10 million guaranteed per year for the next decade.

His life is more important than football, so that money would help him a lot even if he never plays again. Who cares about the Bills cap and any football implication? Their fans should wholeheartedly support that proposal.

If the Bills don’t follow through, then it’s clear they hate him since they value football more than him.

It would be funny if after 50 pages of outrage the new rule doesn’t even pass.

The Franchise 01-06-2023 11:34 AM

Don’t like how shit got played out? Then change the rule in the offseason just like you did with the OT rule when it didn’t go your way.

Wisconsin_Chief 01-06-2023 11:34 AM

I honestly might have to just tune out this postseason. It's going to be so unbearable. Basically like the year Fathead Manning was gifted a Super Bowl as a goodbye present.

The refs are all going to need extra flags in their pockets to keep up with all the penalties they'll be calling against every Bills opponent from here on.

This is what I'm expecting will happen. Better to be roasted for rules that are already in place, than to be roasted for changing the rules at the 11th hour.

The NFL, after receiving recommendations from the competition committee, would create a cap exception for them.

That’s absolute horse shit.

Everyone knew who Hamlin was. We roasted him weekly for missing tackles lol.

Eleazar 01-06-2023 11:35 AM

I hope the vote fails. Changing rules in the middle of the season to favor a team that had a player injured, who is apparently fine, its stupid and a terrible precedent.
