Yep, case was dismissed because the girl dropped charges and declined to testify against Kobe. Kobe's attorneys refused to respond to any questions regarding a financial settlement.

I have no idea what happened between those two but IMHO if a girl brings false rape charges there should be a havey penalty including jail time.
OTOH Kobe should have been sentenced to a few days in the slammer for being guilty of Public Stupidity for getting himself into that one.

im down with scott ive been saying he should be phils replacement since his first retirement. i like bshaw but i dont think hes got the stones for the pressure in la. we're pretty much stuck with gasol. 19 mil a year going forward for a guy who obviously aint a bigdog aint real attractive to many teams. should be interesting to see how the new cba turns out, hopefully better than this nfl shit

The girl can't just 'drop the charges'. It's "state v. Bryant" not "girl v. Bryant". If the state wants to continue a prosecution, they'll continue it with or without her consent. The case was dismissed because the ruling at the preliminary hearing essentially told the prosecutors that their 'star' witness was making shit up on the fly and that they'd better get it straight before they went any further. It was as damning a ruling as I've seen in that situation. It was dimsmissed shortly thereafter and there was a financial settlement nearly a year later w/ a complete non-disclosure agreement (which was more valuable than the civil dismissal).

The same folks that are always going after Kobe on this always screw up the timeline and have never bothered to do the legwork on it. I've gone over it several times on here, but it seems like it pops up again every May/June. Essentially, the case was absolute dogshit. The woman never did get her story straight and the circumstantial evidence against her just kept mounting.

This was a situation where Bryant's celebrity actually hurt him. Had she just said some random college kid raped her, it's unlikely that charges would've even been filed. The evidentiary record for this thing was completely barren.

I just think it's a little strange that a woman gets raped, goes and has sex with some other guy and THEN goes to the hospital and files charges. Usually rape victims have issues with having sex for a very long time, don't they? And if a woman gets raped, wouldn't going to the hospital be the first thing on her mind?

Maybe the sex was consensual but then he held her down and stuck it in her ass against her will? Who knows.

Sources say that she is eager to return to the states. Uh oh I wonder if his wife will stay with him if this is true this time. She is crazy if she does. There is that saying once a cheater always a cheater. I hope that it is just some media bull because I never wish heart break on women because we already go through enough in life. I wish them the best and will keep you guys updated on any new news I find out.

Who cares already? There's tons of athletes that cheat on their wife weekly. What do I care if Kobe is doing it too?

Her own friends even said that she was bragging about having sex with Kobe the day after. Somewhere along the line, she must have realized that she could get some money if she accused him of rape.

Only thing I held against Kobe for all of that was when he threw Shaq under the bus in an attempt to take the heat off himself. That was when I disliked Kobe.

No doubt. Athletes always take that risk when they get strange on the road unless professionals are hired. Kobe made his own bed by ****ing her and had to pay her a lot of money as a result. Is he a rapist? I don't think so.

Definetely some things that didn't seem to add up with her. F'ed up situation that Kobe could have avoided. There are available avenues for pro's to excercise their extra-marital impulses that are safe and secure.

Nobody here needs you to tell them when and if they may discuss Kobe Bryant's rape case. The fact is Kobe Bryant was accused of rape. He then punked out by outing his team mate as also participating in extra-marital affairs in a bitch-boy attemtp to cover for himself.
