Rumor a couple weeks ago was we were going to go after Richardson.

I’ll say one thing for him, he’s been a good player every year of his career.

Who reported this rumor?

I’m not a big fan of Richardson

Seems like that type of player is available in the 4th round yearly

I wasn’t suggesting that they didn’t have the money. I just find it hard to believe they’ll invest that much into two slot WR’s.

Well, you never know. He might use Wilson like Reid used him, lining up all over the field.

I believe he is talking about Sheldon because it was in response to your post about DL.

As for Paul Richardson, he was pretty ****ing good last year (700 yards 6 TD’s) and would be a good fit with Mahomes. I’d prefer not to sign a WR for anything significant, but it’s intriguing. He reminds me of Emmanuel Sanders the year he became a FA. His best days are ahead of him.

Paul Richardson? Outside of last year, in which he had 700 yards, he's barely been a blip on the radar.

Again, I'm weary of those type of guys in a contract year.

I'm not a fan of Paul Richardson. He had a nice 2017 but he was invisible during the three prior years.

If they sign Richardson, I'd guess they're not sold on Conley, Chesson or Kemp, which would be kind of odd unless Veach just doesn't like them.

K, yeah, not a fan of him, either.

He only plays when he wants to play and if Seattle lets him go, it speaks volumes about his character, as they gave up a 2nd round pick and a pretty damn good receiver in Kearse to rent Richardson for one year.

I don’t prefer signing him nor do I expect it, but I don’t think Richardson’s “breakout” season was a fluke. He’s got the talent to continue his ascension.

pugsnotdrugs19 03-03-2018 02:21 PM

Give me Watkins on a 1-year deal at WR. He needs a QB who will occasionally force it to him. But he’s also got the ability to take over games and require extra attention.

Okay, let's say that's true: What do the Chiefs do with Conley?

He's up for UFA next year, so if they give a guy like Richardson some dough, Conley, who they moved up for in the 2015 draft, is likely a goner, which would be a waste of 4 years and draft capital.

If Chesson and Kemp don't drastically improve this year, the Chiefs are back to 2 decent wide receivers, one that hasn't proven he can stay healthy.

That seems like a big risk to me for a guy with one quality year.

Watkins will have much better offers than a 1 year deal.

I don’t know that he will. I think any long term offer he gets will be for less than he believes he is worth, so thus he may risk it and go big or go home in 2018.

Frosty 03-03-2018 02:29 PM

Paul Richardson was invisible his first three seasons because he was hurt all of the time. When he actually played, he played very well. This last year was less of a breakout year and more that he was relatively healthy for once. His injury history would scare me way more than his talent level. He made some just insane catches this last year.
