The Time's Our's podcast discussed this. Seems the Chiefs value a player that does well in practice, knows the scheme than someone who clearly out performs them in the actual game when it counts. They talked about looking at Gay's tape. Gay was almost always was where he was supposed to be and got there way faster than Neiman. Why Gay is not playing over Neiman was a head scratchier to all of them.

No kidding. And even then its not 100% because the players never go all out against their own teammates.

Does any other offense compare to KC’s speed?

Hill/Hardman/Calloway/McKinnon/CEH + the TEs.

But I thought he was wearing a chiefs helmet

Per Jason La Confora

Can’t wait to watch him get shut down by our OL. Going to a team with one playoff win in the Lamar era, lol.

Travis Kelce back at practice.

Nieman is in there because he fully knows the defense and will take Hitchen's spot if he goes down. He will make the team.

Creed had 2 bad snaps and took a lot of shit about it until Mahomes said 1 was on him. That is what Training Camp is for.

Love this about Mahomes. He is a great teammate.

Starting RT Mike Remmers is not at practice today. His absence should put Lucas Niang with the starters.

Now is the time to shine

At this point, all we know about the #1s offense is:
For sure:
QB-Mahomes
RB-CEH
TE-Kelce
WR1-Hill
LT-Brown
LG-Thuney
Most likely:
C- Humphrey
RG-Smith
WR2-Hardman
Up for grabs:
RT, TE2/WR3
Humphrey is going to OK. I'd be a little nervous snapping the ball to All-World PMII at first. Smith's only question mark is the blood clot thing. Hardman at WR2 until someone takes it from him. Gray has to be better than the rest of the dreck we have at TE2, right? Sigh, DRob at WR3, looking over his shoulder. All I know is I never want to see Remmers at LT ever again, so by elimination, Niang is the swing T.
Let's see what happens when the pads are on.

Former All-Pro edge rusher Justin Houston reached agreement on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million with the Baltimore Ravens, per sources. Houston turned down significantly more money from other teams in order to pursue a championship with the Ravens, per source.

Jerm 07-31-2021 08:49 AM

Houston signed with the Ravens so we can put that one to bed…

In58men 07-31-2021 08:54 AM

#Chiefs in 11-on-11 right now .. Tyreek Hill with a couple nice grabs on Mike Hughes (although one ruled out of bounds) -- Also Lucas Niang handling his own at right vs. Clark/Jones (again, no pads)

Willie Gay continues a strong spring, affecting plays getting into gaps quick.

In58men 07-31-2021 08:59 AM

Ben Niemann is walking up the hill. His day looks to be done.
