I imagine it has to do with her interactions with the kids bringing out old wounds with her daughter. She wants them to be tough and capable, so they don't end up dead like her daughter.

I don't think she is being so much an asshole and more realistic in the world they see now. Like what Daryl said when she asked him is he was ok. "Yeah, I gotta be."

They talked about the 2nd body on Talking Dead. He was the other guy that Tyreese's chick mentioned that was coughing, he was one of the people out killing zombies at the fence when Tyreese said he wasn't up to doing that anymore and went on the run instead.

It hasn't said yet. My guess is either the crazy little girl who was upset the walkers were killed or it's the bald black guy who went on the run on with them.

My vote is the little girl for the rat feedings at night. He little sister said she is messed up, not weak, or something like that, and she was about as upset that Nick was dead as her father dying.

I was thinking the rats were on the outside of the fence.... But I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on that. So I don't know who is doing it, yet.

I think it's the little girl too. Not because she is trying to sabotage anything but because she feels sorry for them (she was naming them in the premier).

It looked like the feeder was about the height of an average walker, though, right? Not that they couldn't fudge that a little, but the little girl would be reaching up significantly to feed them.

But yes, they definitely want to hint at the little girl at least with her behavior and her sister saying she's messed up.

here's another idea......be a lot of work, but it's survival man. those pointed poles that line the entrance.....be nice to have them along the entire fence line. probably not really feasible due to lack of resources, but just a thought. again, if you keep the numbers down on a daily basis, there won't be enough of them out there to be crashing down a fence.

I totally dug the scene with the zombie face getting split by the fence. pretty cool....even though the face didn't split along the fence lines. I was surprised by that. as much as they put into special effects, how hard could that have been? still pretty cool.

I think hershal burned the bodies. The amount of blood on the floor makes it seem she already died from hemorraging. She would have turned. He burned thebody to stop the spread.

Also, and I know this is just picking shit to pieces, but she stabs the father in the ear and it's done. how many times have we heard stories of people getting shot in the head...WITH brain injury.....and they survive. personally, in a similar situation, I don't think I'd be comfortable with that kind of minimal damage to the brain.

She is showing hard truth. Two different camps of thought going in the prison. Let them be kids vs growing up and living.

Well it does not take much to kill a zombie. Might not take much brain damage. I think a 5 to 6 inch knife in the head with a twist should work.

You should be more worried how that many people just dont kill all the zombies on the fence in an hour. And how come zombies keep flocking to the middle of nowhere prison.

I was thinking that about the stakes too. Also, get a bulldozer, weld a cage around the driver and occasionally go out and mow down the walker mobs. :shrug:

About the pigs comment above, he was going to get rid of them anyway because of the zhwine flu going around, so I think he was just killing two birds with one stone. Lure the zombies away, and cut the pig and let them get clsoe so they can't escape and keep spreading whatever the sickness is.

Or how about this; the group knows that you can camouflage yourself by covering your body with zombie “goo” (see season one Rick & Glenn, or season three with Michone’s arrival at the prison) and you can use “live” zombies in the same manner (see Michone’s pets).

So why wouldn’t the group either;
A) Create a perimeter of zombie goo
OR
B) Create a perimeter of “live” zombies with their arms cut off and their jaws removed

That just stops them from noticing the living as easily when they are close up (mainly smell). Just because there is a perimeter around the place wouldn't mean that it would mask seeing living people walking around and talking or such inside.

It is camo, as you said, not a repellant.

That was probably the best episode on this show since Clear last season. Packed the kind of emotional punches that the TWD has often been lacking. Perhaps the new showrunner finally has it on the right track.

THIS is a great idea. hell even if you can't find a dozer you could pimp up a truck and at least get 'em broken up a bit. can't walk with broken legs....then you wade in and start smashing the skulls that the truck didn't smash.

we have friends who raise a couple cows yearly, just for the meat. they always come up with entertaining names......Lunch, Rib Eye, Jack Stack....etc...

The end to that episode was great...sucks that hottie got it, but you can tell that was kind've coming. I expect Tyrese to check out and then just blow up. Definitely more emotions on that episode...

But lets say you cant get that military grade option.....why not go scavenge an automated car wash place that has the spinning scrubbers, Tilt it side ways and remove the rubber and mount hardened chain with some larger steel balls or something.

Then you can wade through the walkers pretty well. More then likely not having to get out of the vehicle to kill them later. Put some "gun ports" on the sides so you can push a stake or pointy object through and kill the ones getting up on your vehicle.

Might also just fling still attacking body parts everywhere if it doesn't destroy the brain.

I cast my vote that Carl eats it. Not really out of anything more than hope though.

I think Carl is the safest of everyone; he's the point of view character, the John Connor of the series. The whole story is seen through the eyes of a boy growing up in this horrid world, and what kind of person he'll grow to be. For the same reason, I think Rick is only marginally less safe, for the same reason.

If they're talking mega-major characters other than those two, they'd have to go with the few who are left from the original camp, which would be Glenn, Darrell, and Carol. As for Darrell, even though he's not in the comics (which I haven't read, incidentally), so they wouldn't have to worry about continuity, killing him would be like killing Fonzie - he's the breakout character everyone talks about, so it would be a short-term talking point which would long-term damage the show, so not him. I could see it being either Glenn or Carol, though; I give the edge to Glenn, though, because of the dramatic possibilities it raises, and besides, he and Maggie are just too happy.

Mind you, this is all theory.

Glenn took the picture of Maggie. That gives him something to remember her by when she gets killed off.

Glenn and Maggie have barely been on the show so far this season. It is probably one of them.

My bet is Carol.

It herschal or glenn and maggie go together when the other gets bitten..

During the sneak peak during Talking Dead, they showed that scene with Darryl and Michonne in the car running into walkers. When the camera rises above the trees you see a sea of walkers heading their way. The director said it was 7500 walkers. How could they survive that? I know Darryl is a big draw to the show but it seems like an impossible situation.

I want to know how all these ****ing walkers always seem to congregate together, or again how the **** they keep finding the prison out in the middle of the county..

I know, that shit should not bother me.

I'm thinking....mount each end of a steel beam to a couple trucks about shoulder high....drive through a big ass group of walkers at a high speed and decapitate all of them....wa la.

i would like to add that it would appear that the group is in a car, so maybe they are not at the prison, but in a remote location away from the prison? maybe.

This show just isn't as captivating as seasons 1 and 2 :(

I agree. He looks like a recovering alcoholic struggling with his problem, but I get the feeling there's more to him than that. The way he looked at the cut-in-half zombie out in front of the Wal-Mart had something weird to it.

Yeah I got the alcoholic vibe too. As a smoker, who has quit, started, quit, started..... I can't imagine anything that would put my addiction to the test more than fighting everyday for your life against zombies.

Ok... So Let me get this straight here.
A deputy Sheriff from a shitty little town in Georgia looks at a murder scene for a few minutes, sees a blood spot and instantly knows who's to blame.
He's a redneck Columbo I guess.

I don't think he knew who did it until after the part where she went out to fix the water and how she was acting.

There aren't all that many people that could have done it anyway, and I think the blood spot was a hand print that he could tell was a hell of a lot smaller than his own hand, which means a woman or a kid. Put together the idea of a woman doing it, and how Carol has been hard ass on keeping people alive, and it isn't a huge leap to try to see if she might have done it.

I'm actually liking this season so far. The sickness in the prison creates a lot of tension for some reason. Every time they film in the sick ward, I feel like they're in a room full of ticking time zombies.

For a bridge episode it was not bad, but I wasn't a great episode either. The new red shirts have all been put into isolation with a few key members (Glenn & Herschel), part of the core group has been put into peril while trying to get meds, and the remaining group is stuck fighting the walkers trying to get into the prison.

Basically the show has set up the next 2 - 3 epsiodes with this one.



Just an aside; how did everyone miss the smoke from the burning bodies?

Anyone watch the horrific episode of 'Talking Dead' with Marilyn Manson. What a train wreck.

As for the episode, I thought it was good and agree the sick bay is zombie breeding zone.

Yeah, I watched TD and was thinking "I don't think Marilyn's gonna be asked back on the show." Hardwick had several, "Wait, what?" moments, like when Marilyn said he thought the rat feeder was Carol's daughter.

Marilyn Manson was awful. Worst Talking Dead I have ever watched.

I caught the end of Talking Dead as I geared up to watch the encore. MM was just so awkward. Nothing he said made sense, and you could tell the host was annoyed by how off the wall his comments were.

He was either drunk, stoned or just trying to be annoying to the host. Either way the host had enough by the end of the show.

He added no value whatsoever.

Not a good episode.

Some of what MM tried to say made sense, but his rambling made it impossible to understand easily. As for the Carol's daughter thing, I actually agree with him pertaining to the rats. But, he didn't explain it well enough in that he meant the surrogate daughter, the one that couldn't stab her dad in the head when he died, and cried that they killed Nick....and who is also sick now and in with the zombie tickers. But when he just said "Carol's daughter" he should have been more specific, although he weirdness from before made the host quick to cut him off all the time, and reasonably so.

Marilyn Manson enjoys his absinthe.
The debate over whether absinthe produces effects on the human mind in addition to those of alcohol has not been conclusively resolved. His appearance on Talking Dead may end that debate.

I really enjoyed this episode.
