Love Nicky
Nicky Lopez, hitting machine.
2nd and 3rd nobody out, chance to put away the game and they couldn’t do it. Just one run across.
And now sounds like Matheny is getting ready to send out Lovelady instead of Staumont? I’m guessing the Cards have some lefties coming up? Otherwise, not sure why you make this move if you’re trying to close out the game. |
Royals win!
Worked out, I guess. But still don’t understand the decision.
Whatever. Two teams going nowhere. Hopefully Matheny and Moore realize this and can let the guys that need to be playing on a regular basis, play, so you can get a nice long look at them before the end of the year. |

I did expect them for 2022 to contend for a WC position and 2023 for the division. I still expect them too, however I still do not like Matheny as the manager. Hopefully the players will excel well enough at the hands of of managers inabilities. |
Soooo many empty seats in The Loo. Bfibs avg 22,900 per game
https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance Yankees 20k per. SF 16k. Five teams below 10k |
Guessing a lot of that is due to the COVID restrictions from earlier in the season.

These are kind of skewed though because places like Toronto and Oakland really care about Covid and places like Atlanta, Texas, Houston don't give a shit. As a whole though, it looks like baseball is really struggling. If it isn't the 4th most popular sport in the USA already, it will be very, very soon. |

Serious logjam at catcher there. The million dollar question is will they bring some of these guys up in September, or leave them all there and get the experience of being in a playoff race together like they did with Hosmer/Moose/etc. Omaha is in 1st place in their division.
I feel like they've got to be planning a move of some kind. Either Viloria or Rivero traded, or Gallagher traded, or something. Melendez HAS to be slated for every day AB - but where?

Next year will be so much fun watching him. |
TRADE A ****ING CATCHER AND/OR CUT GALLAGHER
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD |
Damn Yankees are in town!

Hernandez threatening a Nicky Lopez like emergence this season.
Hernandez has very elite stuff.
Stuff+ (which factors in velocity, movement, spin rate, and release distance from the plate, among other things) backs that up. He’s top 20 in baseball. It’s nasty, nasty stuff. If he can add some consistency you’re looking at a real potential find. Worst case, I think he ends up as a good late inning guy. He also has cyborg dominance potential in the back end as a medium case, and #2 starter as his best outcome. |
Pitcher's duel, no score after six.
Safe
I DO NOT SEE IT BUT I'LL TAKE IT
Got screwed by the second base bag. Heck of a pitching performance though.

Same as if he had been ruled safe to begin.with. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk |
Man, Hernandez has been a real find. He definitely has elite stuff.
Very impressive start for Hernandez.
Dat what speed do!
Starting pitching has been very solid since the All-Star break
What a game for Hernandez. He's really turned it around.
TWO WALK GAME FOR SALVY
Why are we not pinch running for Salvy at first and pulling him from the game at this point?

I don't know what the stats say, but I'm shocked anyone throws Benintendi a first pitch fastball at this point. He always seem to be ready for that.

Apparently Matheny eventually agreed. |
Voit has flat out killed us this year.

Hearing that many cheers at the ‘K’ with the Yanks taking the lead late in the game is ****ing sickening.
Would be awesome to see Olivares get an AB here.
Terrible AB by Taylor

Good work Doucher

Extend NICKY LOPEZ NOW!!!
Whoever came up with the runner on 2nd in extras idea needs to be put in prison for life.
These are good losses. Guys that won't be around in 2 years when this team is competitive are losing, and the guys that will be are doing well.

Time for Olivares to get an AB
Clearly there's no value in giving Olivares an AB in this situation.
LMAO Holy crap. Alberto delivers.
Tie game.
Incredible.
1. Hold Yanks scoreless in the 11th.
2. Olivares finally gets an AB in the bottom of the inning. 3. Walk off single. 4. Profit |
Scratch 1 & 3.
Now, game winning walk off HR for Olivares in bottom of 11th. |
Holland is completely gassed.

Holland looks completely gassed. Then he throws two straight pitches at 97 like it's 2014 out here.
How does Greg Holland ever get anyone out? All he does is throw 37 sliders in the dirt every inning and hope someone swings occasionally.
That could not have been any more of a disaster.
No wonder they benched him.
Can Santana walk it off?
Damn!
Crazy game. Probably would have won if they didn't pinch run for Sal like 3 hours ago or if they let Olivares PH in a meaningful situation or if they didn't let Greg Holland throw 430 pitches.
Tough game for either team to lose, just had to be us when Nicky got clobbered with that hit.
Holly was awful throwing crap balls but his fastball was lively. Strange game! |
But guys, at least noted JAG Ryan O’Hearn got another out-of-position start.
Prime Matheny! |

This is the type of thing he did in St. Louis with young players. He'd have promising prospects and let them rot too much on the bench in favor of crappy vets that he played out of position pretty frequently. It's not just a him thing - Arizona is doing the same thing right now with C/OF stud prospect Daulton Varsho - but it's frustrating. |
