Here’s a interesting name the Chiefs should sign. Nothing more than a #4 or #5 but Dez Bryant

Go for it. Doesn't hurt to give him a shot. Maybe he'll surprise.

O.city 03-27-2021 06:58 AM

The more I’ve looked and read about the tackles the less I wanna trade up I think. Unless they feel there’s a certain one they want, surely there will be a good one available at 31

Why because he’s talking with Tyreek on Twitter?

Good god man. Give it up.

O.city 03-27-2021 07:22 AM

Its sink or swim for Hardman now as the #2. They may draft someone in round 3 or 4 but for the most part, Hardman is your guy.

Yeah, Reid and some of the coaches seem to have some good connections at these schools.

Not racist. Trent encourages the nickname.

Trent Williams is a TURD and he used the Chiefs. Time to move on.

These guys make millions and still go to mediocre to poor tattoo artists. Yikes.

This happened with the DL when we drafted Chris Jones. There’s going to be a stud fall simply due to volume and teams not needing that position.

There will be so much riding on the draft now.

Hoover 03-27-2021 08:37 AM

At this point I do think the Chiefs make a trade of some sort. I don't think it will be for a guy they need to resign however. Plenty of teams still need to create cap space.

As mentioned earlier, you could get OBJ. After watching Tyreek, not sure he wants to see a vet come in that would warrant a 100 targets.

I'd love to get James Daniels, center from the Bears coming of a Peck injury.

I'm sure there are lots of guys available

It’s a deep draft for WR, OT, and DE. If they get their evals right and things falls the way they need them to, they could get plus contributors at all 3 spots.

The hype for Meinerz from this place alone has me sold, lol.

Niang
Thuney
Meinerz
LDT/Long
Remmers

Better, right?

I wasn’t here during the lead up to the 2017 draft but I get the feeling that most of the board wanted Mahomes just from seeing the stories.

True, but its really what none of us wanted going into the draft...That's a lot of "IF's" and a very important season -saving "Could."

He only really looked dominant as a guard and that's what I think he gets drafted as. He looks like a really good LG.

This is simply not true at all. I watched the 1 on 1s, and he was dominant as a T.

There are many that think he’s a T, me included.

I remember there was quite the DeShaun Watson faction here as well. People loved Mahomes' arm and stats in college, but Watson was a national champ and played against defenses better than what the Big XII had to offer. That's why we're all making our selections on this website and not in an NFL war room, apparently. :D

DaneMcCloud 03-27-2021 02:13 PM

I can’t see Niang, who was a 4 year starter at right tackle, being penciled in as the LT.

If things go “right” and they get their left tackle in the first round, I think the battle for right tackle comes down to Remmers and Niang, with Niang winning the spot outright, leaving Remmers as the Swing Tackle again.

I could also see Remmers start the first quarter while bringing Niang up to speed.

Chiefs kicking the tires on Okung.

I’d strongly consider a $4-5M deal plus incentives.

He played at 280 lbs. The knock on him was that he needed to put on weight. He showed up at the Senior Bowl at 300 lbs. and looked great in 1:1 drills.

He didn’t play as much in college as most think he did. He has a ways to go in learning the mental side of the game, but if he keeps improving week to week like he did, he might be an all pro in a year or 2.

When he was on the field, he made a lot of game changing plays and constantly improved. If he didn’t lack experience, he would have been a mid first kinda guy.

Also, I enjoy projecting.

I'll admit I was one who didn't want him at all. But once we drafted him I tried to see the positives.

Want to see him used more on passing downs where he can either attack the QB/ or drop off in coverage. Allows Spags another toggle to mess with people and he is beast coming at the QB and has speed range to play coverage.

No more speculation?

Chief Northman 04-17-2021 04:34 PM

Last whispers were interest in Gio Bernard, and I wonder if they can get Hurst on a cheap deal since he was cut from Oakland. That interior D line rotation would be killer...

Other than that, the draft awaits and then I expect some bargain bin free agency shopping afterwards.

Hurst being released unexpectedly makes me wonder if he’s having issues with his heart again. Hopefully that’s not the case.

smithandrew051 05-01-2021 06:21 PM

Kind of crazy. The Chiefs have a player who is a star or has legitimate star potential at every position:

QB: Mahomes
TE: Kelce
WR: Hill
OT: Brown
G: Thuney
C: Humphrey
RB: CEH
DE: Clark
DT: Jones
LB: Gay or Bolton
CB: Sneed
S: Mathieu

Orlando Brown was a splashy signing, the draft was a whole lot of depth. But what can you expect from a 2-time Superbowl team? Day-1 starters aren't easy to come by for a team this good.

So is Veach going to add a legitimate pass rusher?

They can’t be content with what they have.

pugsnotdrugs19 05-01-2021 08:03 PM

The offensive line rebuild and how fast it has taken place makes next year so interesting.

The division and really much of the conference has been building their roster to beat the Chiefs for the past 3 years, and now their whole offense is evolving. The way they attack defenses might very well look different than it has for the past few years and if so, it’ll be up to defenses to find another ‘blueprint’ yet again.

Easy now. Let's see who is likely to get cut because of FA acquisitions and draft choices. We might be able to get some players that way.
Julio is due $15M guaranteed. So not interested in that. Melvin Ingram is still wanting a lot of money as well.

I think Creed starts day 1

Bolton will get playing time

Kaindoh will be lucky to see the field in 2021

Gray won’t “start” but he’ll be the 2nd best TE on the roster and should get some chances

Powell is a wildcard. If he understands the playbook and proves to be a talented receiver, he’ll play

Trey Smith may need some refining but he’s not a typical 6th round project lineman. He very well might be better than Long and LDT. Not sure if he can beat out Blythe, though

On paper this is a very impressive draft because I think it’s reasonable we got 5 immediate “contributors” including atleast one starter, for a back to back SB team

My first choice would be Melvin Ingram III, but there are other free agent options.

Part of a Kansas City Chiefs DE rotation might be a good role for Ryan Kerrigan.

Last year with Washington, he had 397 snaps, 25 tackles, and 5.5 sacks.

I have to give MahomesMagic credit. Below is his post from February 8th, page 2 of a 315 page thread.

Talented Young Left Tackle - Traded for Orlando Brown.
Good Center - Drafted Creed Humphrey, signed Austin Blythe
Edge Rusher - Drafted Joshua Kaindoh, re-signed Taco Charlton (Maybe another free agent here would be good)
3 Down LB - Drafted Nick Bolton

Pretty Good!

I like what Brett Veach has done with roster, but we still could use a little bit more -

CB (6) Charvarius Ward, Rashad Fenton, L’Jarius Sneed, Thakarius Bopete Keyes, Deandre Baker, Chris Lammons, Dicaprio Bootle, and Marlon Character.
Possible re-sign – Bashaud Breeland.

WR (6) Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle, Demarcus Robinson, Antonio Callaway, Cornell Powell, Chad Williams, Marcus Kemp, Gehrig Dieter, Jody Fortson, Maurice Ffrench, and Dalton Schoen.
Possible sign – Dede Westbrook.

DE (5) Frank Clark, Michael Danna, Taco Charlton, Joshua Kaindoh, Tim Ward, Austin Edwards, and Demone Harris. Also Malik Herring coming off of a February ACL tear.
Possible sign – Ryan Kerrigan
