Yeah, Cam Newton was a reach for me. I just was not impressed with him last year. I think most people would put Cam ****ing Newton in the average category. (I will say this -- if he always played like he did at times last night, I wouldn't doubt it for a second. He looked like Dante Hall on that scramble. Amazing.) Your reaction makes me wonder, though, if you think Cam Newton is a top 5 QB? Top 10? Wow. If not, I guess you were just over-reacting a bit, which is understandable considering how personal this is for you. And there's nothing wrong with that, by the way. It's good to be invested in ... hating Alex Smith? What exactly are you invested in, Mr. Forehead? Being "realistic"? Uh, Matty Ice is more accomplished than A. Smith? Sure about that? Why do I have a hunch that with a little searching I could find posts where you bashed the shit out of Joe ****ing Flacco? Remember, I'm saying Smith is average. You guys are crapping on him like he's the worst qb in the league. He's not. He was the best option last year, and we overpaid for it. So far it was worth it, as the other options have turned out to suck ass. |

Smith is average. Average. Stop acting like he's the worst qb in the league. He was the Chiefs' best option in the off-season. It has paid off well enough so far. This off-season I will join you in the chorus that pleads for a worthy-to-draft qb to hopefully take over really soon. |

And yes, Alex Smith has basically had 1.5 good seasons his entire life. Maybe 2 if you count the year before Harbaugh. He's reverted wonderfully this season. |
Alex Smith is not the worst QB in the NFL. Saying that, I would trade him in a heartbeat for any QB that could throw 4 TD passes and could win a game when down by 14+ points, even if they are inconsistent.
I would rather have a QB that could catch fire for a comeback victory than have a QB that will consistently win if the defense shuts down the opposing team and consistently lose when they don't. |

But, for you to admit that, would mean you have to acknowledge my stance all along..... Alex Smith is mediocre. That we agree on, where we differ is your infatuation with the Chiefs weapons as being anything above atrocious. |

Smith has only lost one game this season ... so consistently losing? He lost to the Denver Broncos, we know that. |

The fact you can't admit that after the Crabtree debacle is hilarious. |

Alex is just a stone age QB. He has no place in the modern NFL. Hope he moves on soon. |

All some of them see is the price given up for Alex Smith. While, a lot, including the precious one you are arguing with now, predicted 7-9 as this teams record, assuming that it would be a second, and 3rd rounder given up, clearly have missed the boat. They don't understand the purpose of Alex Smith. Care taker, game manager, and don't screw it up. They want franchise. Which is fine. Im sure that Andy and John want that too. Just no better options were available. Also, you have to remember. There is a certain part of Pams soul, that still has a huge man crush on Matt Cassel. From what I hear, he was as big a Matt Cassel fan as their was. |

Outside of Bowe's great 2010 The weapons the Chiefs have on this team have never done much but I'm sure they knew Alex would be their QB all along and that made them worse. |
