The group I manage for has some locations in Lincoln,I still find it hard to believe that those guys inventory and set up etc. fireworks for two days of sales, they must rake it in.

You may have county/city restrictions as well.

That doesn't tell what the penalties are, but I am somewhat disturbed that we don't require insurance for display operators.

The penalty is living in Omaha in the first place.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I love Omaha, really.

Back in high school, we made VERY LARGE pipe bombs. We would take them out in the boonies and blow the hell out of various inanimate objects to entertain ourselves. They were also called the “DuPont lure”. They were also great for all our fishing needs when the monster Hawg refused to take other kinds tempting bait we we offering up on any given day. Looking back, we were damn lucky no one got killed with some of the stupid crap we pulled. A close call with one of my friends when we were out one day put an end to our “super fireworks.” He came very close to becoming prairie pizza.

we did the firing of bottle rockets at other passing cars while driving.....
Object was to get one in an open window.

Like joisting....

Real M-80s blowing up everything.....We were lucky no one was killed.

Now kids riding a bicycle without a helmet is considered dangerous.

So this guy comes into today and I start visiting with him about our different multi-shots etc.

By the time we're finished he'd invested $743 in the biggest C-Class sale I've ever made to one individual and believe me at our prices he got one helluva show.

Just had to share this story as I was a bit in awe, especially after I asked him how large a group he was entertaining and he told me just his immediate family of 5.

That's amazing. Someone in his family dying this year? :hmmm:

I think out of the 8 years we did the Fireworks thing, the biggest customer we had spent $480. $773 is .....wow.

Well a new season has begun and so far on our first day a whopping 6 customers, thankfully one of them was a fairly decent sale.

I'm somewhat concerned about this season as I've heard from other firework retailers that Wednesday is the worst day the holiday could fall on,I guess I'll know for sure before long.

Yeah our heaviest days are the 1st thru the 4th but we don't slash prices, the fireworks get boxed up and shipped back.

It always starts on June 27th here in Topuka. They must know it is our anniversary that day. Something meaningful to celebrate.
