Hey people can pile on me if they want, I know on this board I'm going to get some shit for saying that but I do think Steven Jackson is as good right now.

He does snore, but he's just sucking in the world's pollution. And breathing out a sweet smelling fragrance.

That was what I said.......anyone who's watched him run a pass route can tell you LJ runs pretty shitty ones and half the time looks like he could careless about it. I don't dispute that he's more talented then Jackson but I will dispute that he works as hard or tries as hard to be a total player.

I really don't disagree with this, Mr. Mecca. When it comes to Jackson, I haven't watched him a lot, so I'll have to take your word on him.

However, I've long suspected that LJ would rather work on his pouty face than his blocking and receiving skills. He's actually pretty hard to figure out. He excels at times and appears disinterested at others. Like when he's making a half-ass effort at catching a pass.

He's just not what I believe to be a TRUE football player. Football players want nothing but to be the best at what they do. I really think LJ wants to be an entrepreneur and an actor and a video game designer etc. He has skills and he uses them, but I think he is constantly thinking about other things he'd rather be doing. I think he gets bored with football.

Make no mistake, I have nothing to back this up. It's just my opinion. ;)

I disagree. Why else would he go and bust ass with Carini this offseason?

Mecca 04-21-2007 04:18 PM

Also for that post earlier......Steven Jackson has 133 catches in the last 2 years I'd say that's better than marginal hands.......I think that's more than any of our WR's have had in that time frame.

I hope he is. fuck do I hope he is. I had forgotten about that. I hope this is the year that he takes this more seriously than he ever has before. I just don't think that up to this point it has been his top priority. I don't think he was challenged enough.

Believe it when I see it.......he still has the same flaws he had 3 years ago and they aren't athletic flaws they are work and effort flaws.....

I changed my mind. It has been his top priority. Just too many other priorities to really be able to give it the focus that most other guys do. Larry has a lot of aspirations and football is only one of them. I hope this is the year that it takes the precedence it needs.

You should change that to nothing gets me worked up like thinking of LJ and getting on your knees to please him.

You seem to be the only one who is visibly upset with the rumors.

Dude, they have DJ Williams. You can't place a value on the awesome 76 tackles and 1 sack he had last year.
