Hey man, sorry to hear about you and your lady. I would definitely follow up with the lawyer. Most give a free consultation which would help you out.
If you come to any conclusion with your landlord other than what is outlined in your lease be sure to get it on paper. You will thank yourself. This will cost money. Be sure you are prepared to do so. If you make sure your landlord gets their money, it will save your credit and really help you out in the long haul. Its better to lose money now and save your credit than to have this bite you when you try to buy a house and your credit is shit. Best of luck buddy. |
Ask Skip if you can rent a room in his house. Sounds like you got screwed for $2750-$5500, unless you tell her and she buy into, "Hey, we made the decision to move here, together, but I'll help you with the rent until the lease is up. But you have to understand that my help can only go so far, if you expect me to find a place of my own."
If you have a string of cancelled checks for $100-$200, that won't hurt your credit rating as much as it hurts to end this relationship. You can't study and work with a broken head that matches your broken heart. |
PS: No more GF's on the Planet. Got that?

I feel for your bro, I really do. Posts like these make me sooo glad I've decided putting of trying to make a meaningful relationship work until I'm like...fifty. If I were you, I'd push back. I'd ask her who the hell she thinks she is, and I'd tell her to move out or just co-exist until the end of the lease is up. Don't let a woman bring you down. And don't put up with her bullshit. Don't ever let a woman tell you what to do. You are better than that. What is the worst she's gonna do? Beat you up?
I think, as already discussed, setting up some sort of video surveillance would be a good idea in case she makes some shit up. You would know more than me if she was the type of woman to do that, but couldn't hurt to be careful. |

I was going to get married to get out of a housing contract one time, because I was bound by two contracts for the same term. Sometimes theres a loophole in leases regarding marriage..maybe you could forge a marriage license eh? |

After she kicked you out, you should have stayed at a Holiday inn express. You'd have all the answers. Plus this answer: BUTT or NO?

I realize it doesn't always work like that, but I lived with my fiance/girlfriend for 2.5 years prior to our wedding (we got married a few weeks ago), and our living together was a smooth transition into married life. nothing changed except for the officiality of it. |
