It says they don't want him signing with the Vikings a rival of the team? At least that's what I assume is happening. They want him to retire and go out a Packer. Worst case scenario is they have to trade him and be the goats but they get to choose where he goes.

also wouldnt that be a huge cap hit if they just release him

I think the cap hit remains the same whether they release him, they trade him, or he remains retired.

If Peterson made the trade for his rites
expect another retirement announcement
with in the hour

Obviously I'm biased, but no....Favre is better off sticking with the team that was built around his talents. Secondly I'd like to say that I'm proud of those on the planet who are voting to stick with the youth movement. It shows that some of the "True" fans are actually waking up.

If this team had ....

1. A good Oline
2. A good defense
3. only the QB position to fill before being considered the top 2-3 teams in the conference, then I say bring him in.

Too bad we aren't involved in any of those situations. We have holes ****ing everywhere.

CoMoChief 07-13-2008 11:21 AM

Green Bay is one of the best teams in the NFC behind only DAL and NYG.

I don't see a problem in sitting Rodgers for another year. It's not like it will hurt his development. He's still really young. If Brett can be a prob bowl QB for another year then you have to start Brett Favre. It'd be one thing if Favre was playing like a Rams Joe Namath but he's not. He's still a legitimate top 5 QB in this league. He's been the face of that organization for years. You start Favre and say sorry to Rodgers and let him wait another year. GB owes that to Favre in all he's done for that organization. If Favre is playing like shit and is primarily the reason why GB is losing then you bench him and start Rodgers.

If Rodgers wants to be traded then they trade him. Rodgers showed he can be good so I doubt GB would do something like that though they did draft Brohm.

QFT

We are a long way from making a run at the big show. The only reason Peterson would bring him is is to help fill the seats, but not even Carl could be that stupid. :hmmm:

I never said we were close to being a good team. Hence my post....."We have holes ****ing everywhere."

For instance if the Chiefs were in the same position right now as Minnesota, It would be dumb not to trade for Favre for a 4th-5th rd pick.

Really, what has Favre done for GB.

Won one SB, and lead them to another, and thrown away several other opportunities, like last year when he threw that stupid int. in OT?

Maybe he just only turned around their entire franchise into a contender just about every year since he's started.

With the only exception of 2005, GB has at least been 8-8 in all of Favre's years starting as their QB.

What did Derrick Thomas do for KC.......or Tony Gonzalez????

Winning the SB is great, but Favre has been one of the faces of the NFL.

Peyton Manning only won a single title. You wanna dog on him too? Newsflash.........Winning the SB in the NFL is a very hard thing to do and many players on get to play in only one of them, maybe perhaps a couple if they are lucky enough.

It would be one thing if Favre wasn't playing at a high level. But he is and just came off of a Pro Bowl season. You don't fix whats not broken. Favre should start in 2008 and if for whatever reason he sucks real bad, then you can bench him for not playing well.

How many players on that team on offense want to see Favre come back. Players bust their asses for players like him.

You really think any player on that team would reject Favre coming back because they think they need to move on?

StcChief 07-13-2008 01:00 PM

but what will the "No Favre League" do with out him.

Madden will have to find a new Knob to slobber over.

You know Carl Delano has a boner just thinking about the possibilities.

Oh, you know it has got to be killing him with Brodie lined up to be the starter. Heck I still think Carl would rather Huard be the starter again :deevee:

Agreed. I'll never forget his smarmy look on Hard Knocks last year when Herm and Dick Curl are just about to go with Brodie as the starter, and Carl chimes in with his "Don't forget about Damon Huard" directive, the douche.
