Oh the irony lol

Damn... 'Penz bringin' out the big guns.

Well, if this is your deftinition of "big guns" I suppose one would think of this way when it comes to Penz.

I can't say too much. (Hell, my favorite school has "The Antlers", and I think they're great.) But, really... it's just a silly chant that doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot.

I'd give it up.

As for censorship... it's not exactly like they're burning books here. I don't understand why it's such a big deal.

The KU Fan Guide bans obscene language on all signs and banners.

be removed from the competition site.

Call me what you will, but that statement, combined with the terms "Family Zone" ought to create an expectation of a family, i.e. Rated "G" or "PG" environment.

If you were sitting with your grandparents, would you say it?

Use language like that around a game in front of my kids, I'll ask you to stop. Keep it up, I won't have to do much because security will already be escorting you out.

Then you have no ground to stand on.

Settle for spanking your kids when they start using profanity in a few years. Maybe that will drive it out of them.

Are you giving parenting advice now?

I'll determine right and wrong when it comes to my kids. It's my responsibility to my kids. Don't preach to me about things you don't have a clue about. You look even more stupid than you usually do on this board when you start giving advice to parents on how to raise their kids.

Demonpenz 10-09-2008 07:25 PM

I mean no ill will on anyone on this board. The thing about it, is you got these hard nose people on here trying to protect their kids, then you hear or see what kind of houses or homes they have, I would much rather try to emulate what they are doing than try to get into an arguement.

This isn't about your kids. It's about other people.

Stop determining what's right and wrong for other people.

You have no right to dictate to others in public just because your ****ing kids are around. Stop using them as an excuse to push your values on other people.

Would you take your kids to a ****ing sports bar?

I don't think the campus football field is actually public

Depends on the sports bar.

The one I hang out in most of the time is a sports bar/family restaurant. The bar area is for the adult patrons, and the family dining is off away from the bar. The first time I hear 50 guys at the bar yelling in unison, "Rip his ******* head off" will be my last time in the bar. Considering I drop a couple grand in there a year, I doubt that will ever happen.

I don't sit at the bar with my kids unless we're the only ones there.

As far as what's right and wrong for other people, that's a matter of subjective truth versus objective truth. Words have power, and the more you use certain words, the less power they have. I never cuss around my kids... but when the time comes in their teenage years and they really screw up, that's when the power of those words will reveal themselves. If you curse all the time, then when the time comes to really make a point, you've already played your best card.

Like I stated, young man. You raise your kids the way you see fit, and I'll do the same. It's my responsibility to protect them and fashion their environment. If that means helping some folks discover their own personally flaws, I accept that responsibility as well. Consider yourself better off because you read this post. Someday you might understand it.

Admission is by ticket, and ticket sales are open to the public.
