Another great trade for both teams. Gonzo to the Patriots for one of there 3 third round picks. Patriots can afford to give one up and Brady firing to Moss, Welker, and Tony would be awesome.

Gonzalez has three good years left, IMO. Any team that is within their window of opportunity might cough up a second rounder to put them over the top. I'll bet you that the Giants wish they had made that deal for a second rounder. He would have been a perfect go-to target for Manning. Gonzales would have been the tonic for what ailed them last season. |
God damnit Tony. There is no ****ing loyalty in the NFL. What a bunch of shit. This is a problem in professional sports all over though. I still can't believe that John Smoltz can pitch for the ****ing Red Sox...

I have a hard time believing that they're going to trade for Cassel, or worse yet, draft Stafford or Sanchez, and then ship Gonzales off to another team leaving the new QB with no reliable safety valve.
If they're going to trade Tony Gonzales (which is fine with me, BTW, in and of itself) they better damn well have a backup plan to get a TE in the draft. |

I have not had a chance to read the whole thread yet, but this is from the Q&A with Haley from kcchiefs.com on the 17th of this month...

Maybe Tony should cry on Grandpa Dick's shoulder.

If not a third, then get a 4th for 2009 and a 2nd in 2010.

Tony is just upset because his boy Thigpen isn't the starting QB anymore so he's not going to get the ball thrown to him 30 times a game
