I'd rather have a guy try to stretch a double with 2 outs, than a dumbass trying to tag to 3rd with 1 out.

4th inning

Top 4th

Choo flies out to right
DeRosa grounds out to shortstop
Francisco walks
LaPorta singles to center, Francisco scores, LaPorta to second on the throw home
Shoppach flies out to center

1 run, 1 hit

Bottom 4th

Butler strikes out (looking)
Guillen singles to left
Jacobs strikes out (swinging)
Teahen flies out to left

0 runs, 1 hit

"Ball is hit to right..." *Crowd holds their collective breath.... and collectively sighs after Guillen barely avoids falling on his ass making a routine catch.*

AC is near the top of the league in doubles...I wonder if he was thinking about that as he was trying to stretch an obvious single into a double...:shake:

Those two plays were of equal stupidity. One play being dumber than the other, does not make either palatable.

Nightfyre 05-19-2009 07:01 PM

He's not actually going to run. They just wanted to get him dirty.... Well shit.

VonneMarie 05-19-2009 07:02 PM

Why the **** did he hesitate? You ****ing dumbass!!!!! You ****!

VonneMarie 05-19-2009 07:02 PM

I disagree. One guy taking a chance to get into scoring position with 2 outs and a guy already in scoring position taking a chance to get to 3rd with 1 out is different, too me anyway.

Guillen or Jacobs must be gone for next year, neither should be playing the field.

WilliamTheIrish 05-19-2009 07:08 PM

That was ridiculous. It must be difficult comprehending this defense of you're a pitcher.

Let's see. If I induce a two out pop up to short RCF, I can count on my RF waiting for my CF to put in max effort, who will however, miss the catch. My RF, will allow the ball to get past him by just a few steps, whereby the runner at 1st, who will take off with pitch, will round 3rd as my RF, throws the ball to the cutoff man at 2b, who seems to not understand English, or nobody tells him to throw home, so when he finally realizes that the runner isn't breaking stride, throws too late to the plate.

Our pitching staff probably all have daily appointments with Greinke's shrink.

Nightfyre 05-19-2009 07:09 PM

Jacobs swings at a pitch thats roughly at eye level.

BAS 05-19-2009 07:11 PM

This team can be so frustrating and depressing at times. We have some guys that really make some nice offensive plays, but they often get followed by bad at-bats. It's really not the pitching. We just seem to want to beat ourselves.
