Maybe I'm being morbid but I'm curious what would happen to a human body that hit the ground from that height with no chute.

I did on my 60th Birthday. I screamed like a little girl all the way down. I am such a pussy.

If he would have missed the net, would he still be credited with the record?

People have survived. A flight attendant survived a fall of 30k feet when a bomb went off in the plane. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-...ing-a-big-fall

Strange that someone twitted this now. It's called "Heaven Sent". It was from 4 years ago. Still cool as hell though.

I think me and my son are going skydiving....I'm taking a chute though.

Here's the full video if anyone is interested.

And with a gun in one hand!

jumped back in 2016 at Falcon Skydiving. it was amazing and i want to do it again. if you can get over the fact that you are 12,000 feet in the air it’s pretty mild after that. you really don’t feel like you’re falling at all and once the chute opens, it’s so peaceful and quiet just floating down to the ground.

I think I posted this before but the surprise for me was when they opened the door and the wind was going past at 60 MPH or so. Should have expected that but for some reason hadn't thought about it before.

And yes, the quiet when the chute gets opened is amazing!

You ****ers need to strap about 200 lbs worth of gear to yourselves then bail out. You haven’t lived until you spike into the ground with all that weight, then have your chute drag your ass across a field into the trees. As you try to un**** yourself from the mess that was made after you crashed into the ground at slightly slower speeds than without the chute

No thanks. I get easily distracted and I'd be this guy:

It’s the ultimate in irony — they have to dig you up just to burry you.

Donger 06-01-2021 03:03 PM

Watching footage of paratroopers never ceases to amaze me. Especially when they have to do it in the dark. I couldn't jump out of a plane under the best of circumstances, let along carrying gear, in the dark, with people shooting at me.

Thank you for your service. o7
