Its a Vince Papale longshot look.

I think 265 would be a problem for him. I've only seen him wrestle a couple of times but honestly he's not athletic enough for the NFL. If he was...he would have won at least 2 NCAA titles. He's not Stephen Neal...but I could see why teams would take a look

The right 53...(as long as they all possess the whiff of NE)

Embarrassing.

I apologize to Dayton Moore for ever comparing him to Pioli.

Any of you reeruns ever heard of Curly Culp? NCAA wrestling champion. How about Goldberg? O-lineman for the Falcons.

Culp played football in college, and I'd imagine he probably played in high school, too.

The douche whom the Executive of the Century brought in had done neither.

Stenerud went to college on a skiing scholarship. You probably wouldn't have looked at him either. But Stram did.

It's not uncommon for college kickers, for example, to have a soccer background and not a football one, so the above example doesn't work too well with other positions.

Talking about a lineman with no previous football experience is an entirely different animal.

I don't see the big deal either. It is not like he would be on the active roster he would be on the practice squad if that. I doubt they sign him though.

Otis Sistrunk didn't go to college. But he played for the Raiders for 7 years. Good players are where you find them.

You mean Goldberg, the guy who was a football player, then a pro wrestler?

Yup. He played for the falcons. I remember.

I have no idea who this is, but I trust you.

Here's my thought: exceptions don't prove a rule.

99/100, bringing in the wrestler is a desperation move that makes the franchise look like more of a joke. That said, I'd be happy to offer an apology and eat much crow if this ends up being a legit. 1/100 instance.

Sistrunk also wrestled after the Raiders.

RedThat 10-07-2009 08:32 PM

I will laugh if this guy becomes a good player. I'll die of laughter. Hey with good reason. It'll be amusing. When you think of all places to find a player, a wrestler? lol
