Dude, like you, I have been many places and lived in all sorts of different areas. Nebraska's far from the worst. It all depends on what your personality is like and what hobbies you enjoy.
Being a huge hunter, I like it here. The summers are "usually" decent. As are the winters. This last year has been rough but all in all, not a bad place to be.

Now then the people, 3 in 10 are douchebag husker fans. Living in Omaha helps because of the cultural diversity thing. Lincoln sucks. A lot of small towns suck too, (as far as the husker thing goes)
The worst place I've ever lived was Wichita. I hated it.

Kansas City isn't boring sir but yea Nebraska is a pretty boring state other than football and the Omaha zoo. I will say Iowa was worse but Illinois outside of Chicago is the worse.

Never been to Omaha. I agree that it depends on what you like. I went pheasant hunting when I was there, and it was by far, and away, my best experience in the year I spent in NE. I really enjoyed it.

How do you like Lauderdale Beach? I've been trying to apply at places down south for the winter I can't handle a winter like last years again.

I love it man. I love the area, and I really love the people. there are lot of rich bastards down here, but nobody seems to look down on you. I know I brag about my job sometimes, but thats just because I love it. i really don't make a lot of money. I have to bartend at night to make ends meet, but everyone just seems to be happy here.
