But the reason people are excited because he has just started to hit his potential. When he has the ability to run routes with his speed and cut ability is why people are drooling. Because they see the potential this kid has.

No one doubts his abilities. The doubt resides in his small frame and whether it was a good idea to take that risk with a second round pick considering the rest of the needs on the team.

Strawman much?

I mean, it's not like there weren't playmakers at positions of greater need available.

But you knew that. It's just easier for you to mis-represent the facts.

In all honesty, I'm sick of the argument. I'm just going to enjoy the wins until the problems we didn't address rear their heads.

In a perfect world, it never happens.

It's not much of a strawman. When asked whether to draft Eric Berry or CJ Spiller over Russel Okung or Rolando McClain, the argument was that we needed playmakers a lot more than we needed positional players. I really don't see how drafting Spiller (when we have a guy like Charles) is a whole lot different--that was purely a decision about drafting a playmaker over drafting a full-time player at a position of need.

The truth is, we were willing to draft a low-risk guy at a low positional value in a position of need (Daryl Washington, etc...) or draft a high-risk guy at a high positional value in a position of need (Cody, Kindle, Misi). The former are technicians, not playmakers. The latter are playmakers IF you're lucky. The Chiefs instead drafted a playmaker like Spiller who does not fit a position of need, but most certainly fits a role we can use and that we didn't have.

Outside of QB, give me the teams glaring weakness at this point.

Outside Linebacker. And WR (but that's irrelevant--nobody there really worth taking).

I've heard the argument that we should have taken Kindle and Misi. So far, we were right about Kindle. Misi's looking like a guy I'd love to have on my team.

Weaknesses right now would be

NT
DE
ILB
OLB
C
RT(maybe)

I think there's a lot of problems with that list.

Nose Tackle hasn't been a problem so far. ILB has DEFINITELY not been a problem. And DE... we have three guys who are playing at a high level (remains to be seen if T-Jack will continue that progress).

At Center or RT, those aren't exactly positions that you sweat about not drafting, and as of now, Wiegmann has been more than adequate.

McCluster is a better pick than any WR at that slot.

Misi may be a good pick but it depends on what we get (draft) next year for OLB help.

People act like this was the last draft we ever get. Nothing we have done outside of the QB position has hurt this team to this point. I know it's early but the defense is the strength of the team and we need play makers to help the offense.

Seems to me we drafted for our weaknesses this year better than anyone realized. And I think some success this year is big in getting the team and fans turned around. Especially since there may not even be a 2011 season.

If we ignore the line and LB's again next year that would be a shock. We aren't drafting corners or safeties for damn sure.

The team is what #5 in rush defense and you pick the front 7 basically as the issue?
