Why Ravens of cource....

In all seriousness though, if an "underdog team" like the one Plunkett led through the wild card to a SB win can do it, so can the Chiefs.
You've got the tools, and the QB when he's on
If nothing else, kill the Pats PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides i'd rather be happy for a bunch of peole who's board I vist than some ignorant fuggen troll bastard who will show up AFTER the Good bad and ugly are over.

I just want to say up front I think the Ravens have the personnel to make the game a nightmare for you, but the gutless, brainless coordinators have as big a chance as ever to call bad plays and run the wrong schemes...

Their running game versus our run defense...push. I think their OL is good, but so is our DL and our linebackers move quite well. Our secondary is damn god in run support as well. They may have a couple nice runs up the a gaps, but I think we keep everything else in check for the most part.

Our Oline is suspect. Without Jared Gaither both the run game and pass protection has deteriorated. Especially if they play Oneil Cousins...the guy has the worst technique I have ever seen, he looks like a windmill out there.

Their passing game versus our pass defense...advantage us. Seriously, I think we have had trouble with speedy receivers thus far, but have done well against possession guys like the Ravens have. I think that if we can find a way to get the lead in this one, we can hold the lead. Carr and Flowers should do well against Mason and Boldin IMO and I think Arenas has what it takes to keep their slot guy (stallworth) in check. DJ has the tools to take their tightends away from too much open space as well. If Hali is able to get consistent pressure we should be able to force Flacco into some errand throws that we can make a play on. We should have chances to be opportunistic against their passing game.

If you see a lot of Stallworth you're in trouble, but Cam-maroon hasn't figured out he is one of our best weapons yet.

Our running game against their run defense...advantage Ravens. I hate typing this one out, but Casey Weigman isnt big enough to play against these guys. No matter who is across from him, he is gonna need help and that will likely dictate what plays we will be able to run against their front. Hopefully, after we try a few times to run up the gut to no avail, we will abandon ship on trying and focus on what we should be able to do to them. We need to run perimeter runs and try to get Jamaal to the sidelines as much as possible. We might as well deactivate Thomas Jones for this one. DMC should get a lot of carries in this game. If I was coordinating this game, I would have Jamaal slotted for 25 touches and DMC to get 15-20 more. We would have both on the field A LOT.

We can stop the running game if...and that is if Mattison pulls his head out of his ass and dresses the right amount of Dline guys to rotate ian and out.

Our Passing game against their secondary...this one will likely swing one way or the other depending on if Ed Reed plays or not. If he is out, we have some spots we can take advantage of in the passing game and we should be able to take them out of their game by doing so. They really dont have anyone that can take Bowe out of the game in coverage and they may even have trouble covering Tucker. We should also try to get Charles and DMC in space out of the backfield as we could have some serious matchups against their linebackers in this area. A huge factor that will likely tell the tale here is how well our line protects Cassel and allows him to go through his reads. If Cassel has time, he can help us sustain drives. If Reed is out, I feel we have a slight advantage in this area and if Reed plays at 100%, they have the advantage.

Reed pisses me off more than any other Raven. He can do spectacular things, but he is high risk-high reward. Since he is constantly looking to jump a route he will leave a cornerback stranded and not think anything about it. But, our corners are solid. Wilson has done a good job, and Webb has really come a long way in his second season.

Special teams...slight advantage goes to us, but its close. I think they have a slight advantage in place kicking, but that we have a distinct advantage in punters...the return game is pretty close, enough so that I would call it a push.

We have Sam Koch as the punter and he is fantastic. Don't know how he missed the Pro bowl. Special teams definitely allows us to play the field position game.

I see this one being a low scoring game that we have a good chance to win if we can find a way to put up points by any means necessary...maybe even on a return on special teams or defense. I think that if we score 17, we win this game.

You can win this game, but it all depends on the Ravens game plan. If its shit...congartulations...if they hatch a good plan and use their people correctly...thanks for playing our game and take your consolation prize.

The game is at KC, btw. It should be Ravens vs. Chiefs

I figure they'll run right up the gut and at our LDE all day.

And their 3 losses since September have been @NE in OT, @Atlanta by 5, and vs Pittsburgh (who they split) by 3... and they beat the Jets, Saints, and Bucs. The stats don't look great on paper and just looking at their schedule, they don't exactly put away teams, but it's a pretty impressive 12-4.

I haven't watched them much, and it doesn't seem like a terrible matchup from what I've read. I have a feeling the score will be pretty close... probably closer than it should be... kind of like the first 2.5 quarters of yesterday's game, I guess, except they might not get that one big play.

CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raiderhater58 01-03-2011 12:40 PM

Sunday was a wake up call, maybe the best thing that could have happened to this team. we beat Ravens 17-9.

Charles 123yds 2 TDs

CupidStunt 01-03-2011 12:48 PM

Do you know what sucks?

I honestly think if the Chiefs gave Charles 25 carries, the Chiefs would win. But this staff is so ****ing insistent on getting 1-yard carries from Thomas Jones that I doubt Charles will top 15 carries. I think Jones being on the team at this point is a MAJOR negative for the Chiefs, not only in his garbage production but in how many goddamn carries the staff insists on giving him.

Unfortunately, I think (with my head) that Go Chiefs is right. KC hasn't won a playoff game in 17 years.

With my heart, I'm all in, baby. But if I had to bet the house, I'd say Ravens as they are the veteran team and have a better record and more playoff experience.

But any given Sunday....

KChiefs1 01-03-2011 12:59 PM

I've put off posting/voting on this for awhile because I wanted to post with my head not my heart since this is a public poll & we all know how that can used against you here so here it is...

At the beginning of the season I picked Baltimore vs Green Bay as my Super Bowl picks. I've thought all year that the Ravens could beat the Pats when they faced off in the playoffs this year eventhough everyone was all over Brady's boys.

I think that the Chiefs will play lights out vs the Ravens on Sunday but in the end it won't be enough. I expect to see a great game with a very close ending but ultimately I think the Ravens experience in this kinda game will be the turning factor. Ravens will win in the best game of the weekend.

MahiMike 01-03-2011 01:25 PM

Maybe it was a good thing Weis announced his Sabanistic tendencies last week instead of this week. It's over and behind us now. The motivation to play the following week in Boston will be extremely inspiring for the entire organization. Scott Egoli personally energizes the team, Arrowhead passes out free ear plugs and rally towels and the Chiefs go on to win their 1st playoff game since half our kids were born!

Chiefs 27 Ravens 20

kcgreene 01-03-2011 01:41 PM

It depends on which team shows up to play, the Chiefs that played the Titans, or the Chiefs that played the Raiders... and I dont expect to crap games in a row.

Chiefs 27-17

Carlota69 01-03-2011 01:59 PM

The Chiefs have only been out of a game 3 times this year (DEN, SD and OAK), outside of those games we have had a chance to win all of the other 13 games. Plus, we seem to come back strong after a brutal, ugly and embarassing loss, and whip a little ass.

I think we win--28-21:thumb:

Iowanian 01-03-2011 02:47 PM

The Chiefs are going to win by so much they team charter bus will be repainted "the baltimore Rapens" by halftime.

I'm going to play the kazoo so loud from 14 rows off the field that Flacco will ask Ray Lewis to have him murdered.
