I don't know anything about Cahill, but I can tell you that if Latos pitches like he did in his rookie season again, then the Reds are ****ing set.
He was lights out his rookie season (2010), and he was on an innings limit (150 I think http://friarforecast.com/2010/06/23/...innings-limit/). The Padres were in the hunt when I don't think they were expected to be and they won 90 games. They were in the race so they had to pitch him and he went over his limit. I think he ended around 190 or so.
That may have tired his arm too much because he had never pitched more than 90 innings in a season before that.
Anyway, if he can get back to the stuff he had in 2010, he'll be pretty nasty.
