THIS. People always forget this about Nash. He makes his teammates better and he can shoot daggers from anywhere on the court. However, he is the worst defensive player I have ever seen. On defense, the Suns were basically playing 4 on 5 when playing against a penetrating PG.

Wow...what an awful trade for Phoenix. They get draft picks, but given where the Lakers consistently draft, what chance do they have of getting anything close to the value of a league MVP?

Considering Nash could have just signed with the Lakers as a FA on the 11th and Phoenix will get nothing. I would have preferred that they shipped some of their dead weight to LA, but I think the only pick of value will be that 2015 1st rounder which will probably be when age catches up to LA and the pick ends up in the teens.

I am happy with the Suns signing Dragic. He should have never been traded way in the first place.

GDI Anyone but them

mcaj22 07-05-2012 12:16 PM

lol the Suns just threw a lot of money at Dragic and Beasley, yea that will put fans in the seats.

I don't hate the Lakers, really. But I am getting kind of sick of them.

I'm ready to see the colliding dynasties in Miami and OKC. Houston was supposedly going to contend in there and now I guess they aren't. Maybe Chicago gets thrown in there if Miami's down. But I don't want any more teams.

The Lakers are old-world. I've seen Kobe. I've seen him win it on his own. Twice.

I guess he still has to win one without Phil yet. But whatever. Get off the stage. Time to see some new great dynasties.

Houston only had a chance to contend with the great Yao Ming, and they really ****ed up that window by adding some of the turdiest broke dick talent around him (McGrady, Artest, etc)

Houston will never contend now.

I was talking about their acquisition of draft picks to supposedly get Dwight Howard and Deron Williams.

I guess they can still make the Howard trade, since the NBA is weird that way. And with DWill and Howard combined with some of those supporting scorers, the Rockets would absolutely be able to contend with the Thunder and the Lakers in the conference.

Good move. We desperately needed a shooter that could effeciantly distribute the ball.

Even considering his age, this is a perfect fit.

Move Bynum for Howard and next years finals of Lakers/Heat would be the best finals matchup since the Magic/Kareem Lakers versus the Jordan/Pippen Bulls.

:spock:Please.

It would be very similar.

The Magic/Kareem Lakers were declining as a power but had 2 of the top 25 players in NBA history on their roster. As they faced off against the Bulls with Jordan and Pippin, they were being challenged by a younger team that also had 2 of the top 50 players in NBA history on its roster.

Granted, there's no Jordan here, but there's greater overall talent when you go roster to roster. Kobe/Nash/Howard/Bynum would probably kick the piss out of the early 90s Lakers and the James/Wade/Bosh Heat (now that James has evidently pulled his head from his ass) would be able to run with that Bulls squad.

I think you're letting nostalgia win the day here. The comparison is pretty fair.

well that was never going to happen. Houston was never a major player for either. They can make all the attempts they want with good offers but if the players dont want to go there then Houston is shit outta luck

I think vailpass's point was that that particular series only went 5 games, and was not very competitive as the Bulls mopped the floor with the Lakers.

Wow. If you think Sessions got abused by Westbrook, it's going to be 10X worse with Nash attempting to defend him. And if you switch, I don't think Nash is capable of staying with Harden either.

It's really not about one on one defense here.

The difference is going to be how defenses can play LA now.

Those Thunder loses were awful in terms of PG play. 33 points and 17 assists in 4 games is dog shit.

That won't happen with Nash.
