Lucky bastard lol. I'm hoping to make my first trip to Arrowhead next season. Wouldve been this season but instead went and bought the silver Wrestlemania package for this past Mania since it was in Florida (where I live).

If you were a fan when Christian Okoye was running the rock over people you witnessed the best years to be a Chiefs fan. Old people will say it was the Superbowl years in the 60's but the 90's topped all.

THIS.

Now that is an excuse a true Chiefs fan can appreciate.

Arrowhead isn't going anywhere lol. I've been a wrestling fan since I was like 4, felt right.

My dad is from El Salvador. He doesn't watch American football. One random day my dad gave me a Chiefs hat. I was pretty young and also knew nothing about the sport. I've kept the hat till this day. When I did start getting into football it was a no brainer for me.

Now that is an awesome story.

i became a Seahawks fan in 83 when they drafted Curt Warner (a friend of my brother) and saw them play the Chiefs twice a year.
in 89 (Warner got released from the Seahawks) and the Chiefs drafted Derrick Thomas, i was already becoming a fan of Okoye/Word's rushing attack in KC, so with losing Warner from the Seahawks it just happened, i was a Chiefs fan, been here since 89.

best seasons i can remember were 93 with Montana and the DV offense with Holmes/Kennison/Trent and one of the best OLine's i ever saw.

Indeed. If only we had an o-line that good now with Charles and Hillis. Thought of it gives me a chubby.

Youre missing out. My first game ever was against the broncos when I was like 11. I will never forget it. It was like 8 degrees at kick off and I froze my ass off, but if I remember right we won 20-7. Obsessed since then. Of course it never hurts to be born and raised in KC where everyone around you is a fan.

In WW2, they used to call underground anarchists fighting against the regime as "sympathizers". I'm not a Chiefs fan, but I'm a sympathizer. For the simple reason that Austin is a cool dude and let PatriotsPlanet hang its "Welcome" sign on the ChiefsPlanet server. The Mothership had been referred to on PP so I'd popped over here once or twice to look around, and said, "Holy shit, this place is crazy-busy, and everyone here seems certifiably insane." So naturally when I had enough of PP I figured I'd see what it was like on a regular basis here, even though I wasn't a Chiefs fan.

But, honestly, I had nothing against the Chiefs so it was easy to move from "neutral" to "sympathizer". If this board had been called RaidersPlanet or SteelersPlanet, I'd rather eat a plate of hot shit than post here. Half the NFL teams I loathe, and the rest I'm neutral on so I root for them when they play the teams I loathe. The Chiefs were already in that neutral group. My fandom will always be Patriots but, from the neutral pool, I'd pull for the Chiefs if the Pats were out of it.

I was an evil bastard in my last life.

I missremember exactly when I first started being a Chiefs fan. I'm sure it was in the mid to late 60's. But I became a true fan in '70 or '71 when the Chiefs came to my hometown to play a charity basketball game. A few of us kids lined up under the basket where the Chiefs players were warming up and threw back all the balls that went out of bounds. Bobby Bell spent quite a bit of time visiting with me. He rubbed my butch haircut and called me "Eskimo". Buck Buchanan, Willie Lanier, damn all the old time greats played and treated us kids like we were the shits.

Spent most of my childhood in the Cowboys Nation in a small Oklahoma town. My 8th grade year I attended Wentworth Military Academy, an hour outside KC. Several times during that school year I got to visit KC which included passing the Truman Sports Complex. That made quite an impression on this 13 yr old from small town Oklahoma. Later in my teens I started to like pro football and, despite living in the Cowboys nation, I chose to be a Chiefs fan. Despite being a fan of nearly 25 years, I've never seen a game at Arrowhead.
