Personally, I think with Barkley you're probably going to end up with a slightly better version of Andy Dalton. Depending on your view of Dalton, that could be either A)Outstanding or B) Not as exciting as getting Smith or Wilson, who probably project to have higher ceilings according to some due to their physical traits.
Experience in the West Coast system, not elite arm strength (I define arm strength as the velocity on deep outs/comebacks, not throwing the 9 route. Different for everyone I suppose), not exceptionally athletic/mobile, looks down the field, usually goes through his progressions, doesn't do an impressive job with pre-snap especially taking into consideration his time spent in the same system. I'll try to post an actual breakdown with times marked on the youtube videos with his snaps from this year and last year at some point if I can get a free weekend. |
If the OP Billgay is in, count me out!

Did anyone watch Barkley play tonight?

Looks like he made a bad decision going back.

I'd rather have Geno.

Barkley is NOT Cassel.
Not sure if he's worth a high pick though. |

If Geno Smith had decided to become a famous artist those many years ago, Barkley would make an adequate selection for a franchise that hasn't drafted a QB in the first round since 1983.
We could do far worse. If he's the guy we can get, I will whole-heartedly welcome him to the team. I will root for him and have all kinds of patience. At least two years, and if he shows ANY kind of flashes of brilliance, even if just for a few drives or games, he gets more. But I want Geno. |

That's too high. I don't have faith in Pioli to put together a Redskins-type trade. There are still plenty of teams who need a QB with GMs who have testicles and brains. I think if we win more than 4, we're ****ed. Pioli will trade for another backup. Only way we can win more than 4 and still get Geno or Barkley is if Clark fires Pioli |
