I'm not miserable about it. I'm resigned to it. This is 2009 all over again. He's a slightly closer-to-league-average version of Matt Cassel. That's all he'll ever be. This is a bad, bad move, and there's no other way of looking at it. Alex Smith is a game manager who needs to lean on a team that runs the ball 550 times a year.

It's amazing to me, but the guy's been gone for almost 15 years, and we still haven't purged Martyocrity from this franchise. This is a total Schottenchoker move.

At least it'll be entertaining if Andy Reid tries to put AS at the helm of a pass happy offense. Should go nuclear in an epic way.

I love how some people get all upset just because some of us choose not to get all emotional and want to kill ourselves over Alex ****ing Smith. If you want to, go for it. Im sure you can find razor blades somewhere. Me on the other hand, Im willing to sit back and see what happens before I slit my wrists.

Some of you guys are worse than women. And thats pretty bad coming from a woman.

I don't get how some people will willingly spend their time and money on a team that's not devoted to winning. What's the point of even paying attention if you know the team has absolutely no shot of doing shit before the season even starts? That's what people are pissed about.

And you may be right on the money. You may not. but, Im just choosing to be a happy person, not miserable, like some people regarding this trade. Well see what happens is my approach. I cant control it. I can only control my emotions, and thats exactly what Im doing.

Exactly. That's the only thing that will be worth watching the season; the complete ineptitude that will ensue when Smith has to try and win games. The circus should be somewhat entertaining, for a few games at least.

I think I stopped having emotional reactions to chiefs moves about 8 years ago.

Well, aside from laughter that they continue to make moves that are this silly. So I guess I get some humor out of them.

That's now. Within the next couple years you will make wildcard and you will all see his demonstrated class and professionalism. He will win over some.

Make the wildcard and get bounced by teams with 1st round talent at QB.

You know, ones that convert more than 17% of 3rd downs and average 300+ yards a game and, ya know, wins more than 2 games against opponents who score three touchdowns/..

Just think of it as Pioli year 5. Or maybe Martyocre year 24.

Ah, but you DID sign Chase Daniel, so now you have Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, and whatever 3rd rd scrub QB is left

I havent spent a dime on this team in 2 years. I use to get a new jersey every offseason but havent in years. And if Pioli was still around, I would be continuing that trend. However, I think its clear these guys want to win, they just happen to be doing something, WE'VE seen before. But they didnt do it here. And Im sure they arent going, "OMG we cant do that, Pioli did that. Who cares if we think the QBs suck ass in the draft, the fanbase will be pissed because they've read this book before!! We better draft a QB at #1 even though in our professional opinions it isnt smart, but the fanbase Thinks differentl So we better do it or theyll think we arent trying to win"
Please. Just because it isnt exactly what we want, doesnt mean they arent trying to win.

We signed Chase Daniel. We're not drafting a QB in the 3rd round.
