What if people stopped creating stupid threads? What would we do then?

If Fisher sucks at RT, we'll win 7 games.

If he's an All Pro, we'll win 7 games.

Right tackle. Very important position.

I would bet it is his punch/punch placement that is the issue.http://www.kansascity.com/2013/08/01...rt-but-is.html

Listening to 810... they're reporting that Fisher is having his worst day of camp yet. Getting bullrushed by scrubs like Austen Lane...

Yeah, because if he sucks at rt, we should replace a perfectly fine lt with him. Jfc

I get it.

It also explains why we drafted him...

no, I don't agree. he doesn't have it down. doesn't have the position down. doesn't have the blocking scheme down. doesn't have any "muscle memory".

It really is a different position compared with LT because there tends to be a lot of double blocking and blocking down from that side, so he has completely different assignments compared with just dancing with an RDE all the time.

but it doesn't matter, this season -- not for Fisher's eval. They aren't keeping Albert. I don't see anything in the way Albert talks or Dorsey/Reid talk about Albert that says "we're going to do our best to resign this player".

Fisher is going to play LT 2014.

What the apologists aren't saying:

If the guy needed that much work and time to get up to speed....then maybe he shouldn't have been drafted #1 overall.

I spent an entire offseason listening to people preach to me about how #1 overall picks are supposed to be polished and ready to start from day one.....

Yeah that's great and all....except these are 1v1 drills he's getting his ass kicked in. Not a RT drill....a 1v1 drill. He's getting pushed around by scrubs in 1v1 practice drills.

That has nothing to do with "muscle memory" or knowing the scheme or his blocking assignments.

And they BETTER evaluate Fisher this year. What kind of reerun wouldn't evaluate a player's first year in the NFL?

Halfcan 08-02-2013 02:47 PM

I bet Fisher's check has cleared by now-lol

You do realize there have been positive reports too right? Yea he has taken some beatings but he has also held his own against Hali and Houston at times.

I've read every single tweet and report since OTA's, im fully aware of the few positive reports that have come out.

I'm not going to write the guy off or declare him a bust or anything stupid like that....but like i said, most people's reasoning for wanting a RT #1 overall was because he was polished and ready to go.....

He's been anything but that according to reports.

Right now we're hoping he figures out how not get blown up by 5th round Jaguar castoffs.

This.

By year 2 or 3, he needs to be top 5 at his position, wherever that is, for that pick to be justified.

However, in the end, I wouldn't get to worked up about it at this point.

If you've ever been in a practice setting like that, sometimes people get the best of you. 1 on 1 drills and the such, it happens.

I don't think you understand the situation. They aren't bringing Albert back.

As for Fisher getting his clock cleaned 1 on 1 -- you make it seem like they are MMA and Fisher is sliced meat. Those drills are very specific in terms of technique -- that is what/why they drill and as I said, Fisher seems to be having technique problems. Somebody brought up his punch -- different arm punching now.

let them play a real scrimmage before you fly off the handle. He's a pretty good football player. he wasn't my first choice either, so I'm not coming to his defense like some homer.
