Oh and him and his friends had awesome shit.

Leather couches, nice electronics...

I would just get random calls for a couple years from him after he graduated.

When any of them left they just left. Took nothing. He would have them bring me the keys and I would clean their houses out. Everything in then was mine plus whatever deposit they got back if any.

Sweet gig for a guy just out of high school

Wow, it must be nice to be so cavalier with expensive things.

I've met a people from a lot of different countries, easily more than fourty, but mostly when I've been overseas.

Oddly enough, on my foray into North Korea I didn't meet any North Koreans.

Liar. There were no East Germans after the wall fell.

We had a group who formed an informal [though formal enough to scrimmage the University team during International Week in the Spring/offseason] international soccer club in college.

Played with guys from Jordan, Oman, Ghana, Egypt, Paraguay, and I'm sure others, of course a few Frenchies and Brits in there too.

Suffice to say you can take the man out of Africa but you can't take the Africa out of the man - He destroyed my place

Heh, we have numerous Africans living at the properties I work at, I don't know exactly what country any of them are from and I don't really care, but god damn they sure as shit can tear things up. Same with Mexicans.

And spare me any "you're a racist" bullshit, it's not racist when it's the truth.

I've got a great story along those lines but I'll share it when I'm not typing with my thumbs on an iPhone.

Years ago I was helping some friends move in Chicago. The apartment building they were moving out of had no alley, and was surrounded on all sides by narrow one-way streets. This basically means that when somebody moves, they block the entire street with the moving truck, because there's no other choice. 99.9% of Chicago residents understand this. On this day I met one of the 0.1% assholes. Hot, humid, miserable summer day, moving shit down three flights of stairs and onto the truck, for people I'm really only marginally good friends with, so I'm not exactly in the best of moods when this prick drives up behind the truck and starts honking. Tells me the truck's blocking the street. No shit, I say. My friends are moving. Are you ****ing blind? Then this guy, who's Chinese (I think), looks at my Chiefs shirt and with utter sneering contempt calls me a "redneck hick farmer from Kansas." Oh shit. I don't think I've ever went from mildly annoyed to **** YOU DIE so fast in my life. I can't remember how many people were around me at the time, but it took all of them to stop me from yanking that ****er out of his car and killing him. At that point he wisely backed down to the previous block and went another way.

I could deal with the redneck hick part. But Kansas? **** :#

:)

Oh, the guy who was moving was from Romania. So there.

Hmm. No, I don't think I will spare you. Seeing as how racism is defined as the belief that it is someone's ethnicity that most determines their character, and then that people of their ethnicity are inferior to people of yours, I'd say that's precisely what you're doing - especially since you don't even bother to learn what nationality they actually are.

I've had students from so many countries it's hard to remember any more. I guess Qatar and Tunisia would be some of the more obscure ones. Nothing really crazy like Andorra, Seychelles, or Vanuatu.

Well then maybe you can explain to me why a disproportionate number of our service requests come from these particular units. I'm all ears.

If you do a lot of international travel, not only do you meet many people from that particular country, you meet many people on the planes and trains during the traveling itself.

I would say I've met people from no less than 150-175 countries.

I recently learned that a woman with whom I work almost daily grew up in Liberia. I would never have guessed.
